Jerry is the problem. He allows this qb to go without competition. He's not good enough to just work it out and get better. He has hit his ceiling.

I suggest they start attempting to find his replacement immediately. Draft, draft draft
ALways be developing a qb. Dak being so expensive they need to draft a backup.

Doesnt even have to be a high pick. Dak, rush, mike white all recent later round picks who can play.

The title drought includes the last five years of Troy Aikman's career. Think about that.

Not making excuses for Dak but the Cowboys' problems started when he was three years old. Jerry and Stephen are the issues here. The Cowboys can win with Dak, and by and large they have. What is keeping this team from taking the next step is the front office's inability to upgrade the roster at areas of need and relying too much on a "we like our guys" philosophy that only gets them so far.
I don't agree with you, we can win SOME games with Dak, untill he has his stinker game, which he always does in the playoffs.

If the Cowboys were a baseball team and had to win win 4 out of 7 in a series to win a championship, I would agree with you.

Part of the reason for the drought is Jerry is not like Jimmy. Jerry has loyalty to his players, Jimmy wanted to win and would cut his own grandmother.

Next year is Dak's 8th year. We know what he is. I don't extend his contract at all. We can't cut him this year so I get that. But now is the time to start looking for his replacement.
The best 3 QBs taken in 2016 were Geoff, Wentz and Dak.
LA and Philly admitted their mistake and have won superbowls with other QBs since then. Heck Philly is back in with another QB.

Jerry, you need to just let go.

This. Dak is stuck here.

He can be a damn fine bus driver.. if we had used and paid him accordingly it would be fine.

The biggest problem with dak is we tried to use him and pay him like mahomes..
This is just crazy...along with all the talk of simplifying the offense for Dak....especially after most of us were in favor of running Coach Curl Route off. NOBODY has tried to turn him into Mahomes....90% of his picks are within 15 yards of the line of scrimmage....they are usually due to inaccurate throws or failure to see a DB in the area. Other than taking off and running his first year and on rare occasions now, he's basically been running a "bus driver" type offense.....predominantly curl routes....often short of the 1st down marker.

lol, Dak came here, what in 2016? So the 20 years of failure before that were his fault as well? If only we went back in time and stopped Dak from being born we would have been hoisting up more Superbowl titles right?

We're not going to win until Jerry realizes it's Jerry. What owner/GM hybrid has won a superbowl/

Dak threw 4 ints in his rookie year with a running game and game manager roll.....it's the coaching that tried to turn him into something he's not.
Unless the owner dictated to the coaches to try
making him into something he’s not to justify his contract and hype.

Wasn't it Dak that threatened to hold out if he wasn't paid like an elite QB?
And maybe we didn’t have to pay him?

At very least while we tagged him could have drafted or pursued someone else.

Instead we tried to make him look elite to justify his contract.

Unfortunately we have an owner who wants to prove he was right .

they've changed QBs before plenty of times after Aikman. Same major issue. cant win big.

maybe its the GM? but that cant change so we are left with maybe the broken clock will hit the right time eventually. the clock is ticking slow though. very slow.
Yes GM , but more importantly not building the trenches , In the playoffs you can win with sound trenches ( as Eggles shown , they put even SF into submission) , able to run the ball and playing sound defense are key to winning in playoffs , we could beat up Tampa , because they were worser than us but SF beat us up , who in turn got beaten up in Philly ( QB getting hurt complicated this further , that is the reason for runaway score )

our OL , couldnt open running holes against SF and so after pollard got hurt , Dak had to engineer comeback and win , which wasn’ happening as SF was pinning their ears back and Offense went south.

The Cowboys front office really suffers from not being able to evaluate what they have at QB or really any other position for that matter. This in turn causes them to over value average guys and in return you end up with contracts like what Dak and Zeke are sitting on. All spend with no ROI. Until Jerry accepts this and starts getting people who can evaluate players for him to see who is worth the big contract expect more of this. I fully expect Jerry to overpay Pollard and I expect him to do this with Trayvon and will likely extend Dak. So sit back and buckle up folks, this thing will likely hit 50 years of no SB appearance or NFC tiles.

all the coaches and all the QB’s can’t overcome the “hall of fame” owner…

It's too bad this wasn't done with JG after his 3rd year as the OC. Had we gotten a better coach for Romo we may have gone to the SB with him.

And winner of 3 superbowls in 4 years. Don't forget about that

Teams win Super Bowl That's my point. Not Qb's Dallas was dead in the water until Emmitt returned from his hold out 0-2

it took all aspects of a team game. Troy played MVP ball in some of those games as did Michael, Alvin, Emmitt, Jay and Haley, and let's not forget about the Great Wall Of Dallas

It's not like Troy carried the team, when Emmitt held out, he couldn't.

The Cowboys can win with dak except a superbowl. Dak is going into his 8th year, He isn't going to all of a sudden get better. The best the cowboys can do his try to manage is limitations. He is an expensive bus driver.
