How Many Fans Want Flozell Replaced?

I don't want to replace him just for the heck of it.

I want to replace him with a guy who will anchor that position for years to come.

We will probably never get a shot at a guy like that though unless we get one with an expiring contract and we give up a high pick and pay top dollar.

Cool...we're in agreement, then! I was thinking about this last night when the talking heads were dropping their customary "the most penalized player in the NFL since 2007" line pertaining to Flo yet I watched him shut Pepp down play after play! I figured his good outweighs his bad, big time.

Why? He's still one of the best OTs in the NFL! I think we should have a suitable understudy preparing for his retirement/declining skills (whichever comes 1st) but to simply want to get rid of him b/c of a few (okay, plenty ) of penalties makes no sense to me.

I think the biggest question is this,do I want to deal with a drive stopping penalty or do I want to risk a season ending injury to your quarterback.While Adams may have the penalty bug,he is the best we have at this time.Considering that he has overcome a hearing problem and plays left tackle is a testament to his skill at the position.Will the time come that a replacement is needed,ofcoarse it will.When will that time come,i'll leave that up to the coaches and scouting department.

I think Crayton will agree with me, everytime the poor guy has an awesome play Flo just erases it with his dumb penalties. FLo is the MOST PENALIZED OL in NFL History...atleast he has one record. Oh and he's overrated, makes probowls on pure reputation and no production.

He's handled Gaines, Osi and Peppers in the last three weeks, so no, I don't want him replaced. Drive-killing penalties on the other hand ...

I don't have a problem with Flozell. He is very good. But damn it every time he jumps off sides I get so frustrated with him. But no, I wouldn't trade him or anything.

Flozell is quietly one of the Top 5-10 tackles in the league. He stays right where he is.

And he's fired up this year. He actually got really, visibly upset with himself when he made his first false start of the year last night.

so you'd prefer a guy who made fewer penalties and also shut down great DEs.... so what you are saying is that you'd prefer to have say, one of the top 5 LTs in the league instead of Flo? Duh, who wouldn't. However, back here in reality, folks recognize that Flo is, on the whole, a good player.

Say what you want about his false starts and "leg whips", but the guy continually shuts down top-notch DEs. Peppers, Tuck & Osi, Gaines Adams...none have had too much success against the Hotel this season! IMO, his production against the best d-lineman in the NFL easily trumps the penalties he accrues. He gets a pass in my book as long as his pass protection and run blocking remains great.

I would LOVE to see Flozell Adams replaced. We do have a young Jonathan Ogden waiting to step in right? Mark Tuinei? Orlando Pace? Walter Jones?

I would love to see us find a great, young LT to step in and take his place but until then... no thanks.
