How many of you believe we can win this year's superbowl...

Clearly, we're the most talented team in the NFC....possibly the NFL.

I think we have a shot...sure.

I just know there are folks that will point out not winning a playoff game for 12 years.....but this isn't the same team.

Eli and Peyton Manning are excellent examples of QBs that needed some time to win their first playoff game. I think Tony Romo will do fine.

Our defense is still very young....heck, our whole team is pretty young.

Being a pre-preseason favorite means nothing though and you better hope that Romo and Co aren't buying into all this hype at this point. I personally think that was your problem last year. Your team felt like it was owed the super bowl and all you had to do was show. I feel that most teams need a bit of a chip on their shoulder and Wade Phillips isn't helping things by saying he felt the best team lost in the playoff game. Overcome that, and I think you have a very good shot.

that statement reminded me of crayton saying after the new england game "IF THEY get to the SB, then WE'll beat them" (something like that). then he followed that up with that "marking his territory" comment before they played NY. if the cowboys had a tom brady persona/leader in their team, he would have told crayton to shut the hell up the first time, and the second comment wouldn't have been said at all.

so yeah, i think the team bought in to their own hype. how else would you explain wade's lame "we have 13 pro bowlers.." that he repeated over and over? as long as wade is coddling this team by saying "oh well, at least we have this, at least we have that, at least we did this..." then i don't think they will win.

great on paper though.

I disagree obv as i said before i don't think we have it in us. Not because we are bad however i still say that the NFL is rigged. So superbowl this year will be Manning v Manning.

I never expect to win the Superbowl in May, but I hope that the Cowboys win it every year. They didn't get "cute" with the draft and they upgraded at RB and CB. In retrospect, it now seems prudent that Jones locked up our O-Line guys like he did. The run on those guys in the draft was mind-boggling. I think all the pieces are there to win now.

i dont see how one can say its frigged rigged unless we suddenly became the XFL where Wrestling met football. I'm shocked we didn't meet the bears in the NFC Championship game 2 years ago or meet the Jets in the Superbowl this past season...cuz ya know Jones v.s Jones...

So you think the 2 new CBs and 2 new RBs we drafted are not going to help?.

The CBs are unproven so we'll have to see how they fare in regular season before we know what we have there.

The new RBs should help some but I think the fault lies more with the OL. If teams really don't respect your running game, they can really clog up the passing lanes and hinder your ability to pass the ball. I am hopeful that by the end of the season Houck will have our underachieving (in the running game) OL performing better when it counts most. They should already have some familiarity with each other having played together for a year - now they just need to block more harmoniously as a cohesive unit.

He completely avoided the media and just did not have that moxie going into the playoffs. He needs to be able to block all the distractions and criticism out. If he can do that and stay focused, the team has a shot. Romo idn't play horrible at the end of last year but he was not himself and it showed on the field.

I was exchanging emails with a friend I hadnt seen since the before draft. While evaluating each of our teams drafts and where they stand it hit me. I'm pretty fricken confident that we are winning it all this year.

Very similar to how I felt prior to the 81-83, 93-96 seasons. We are the best team, we will win the Superbowl. As was the case in those years, my confidence can not be shaken.

So the question stands, are any of you as confident as I am?

I'd especially value any feedback from the readskin trolls.

Romo got hurt during one of the later games (his thumb) but it wasn't just Romo who played "bad" the entire team does in december. and how did he lose his mojo? last year was his first full year as a starter...

The killer instinct is definitely lacking on this team. Talent wise we have one of the best defenses in the league. But it seems that the only guy who consistantly will come up big and make a damn play is Ware. I mean, Williams hasn't had a game changing hit in forever.

Newman is a great player, but he rarely makes that game changing play.

I think offensively we at least have a few guys who will come out and make a game changing play. That woould be Barber, Owens, Romo, etc.

I mean, the playoff loss to NY was pretty much indicative of all that. Look at guys like Crayton who play well when the pressure is off, but then when they have to come up with a play they can't even make the basic plays.

I don't know if we're going to win the Superbowl (I'd love to see it happen) but I believe we've got a very good shot of doing it.

Anyone who sits around and says "no chance" doesn't really watch, or know, anything about football. Before the start of last season I'm sure there wasn't anyone, outside of Giants fans, who had them winning the Superbowl, and especially not after the way they started, yet they hoisted the Trophy.

So, yeah, I do think we've got a real shot.
