TE="RS12, post: 7120006, member: 517"]IMO we all better pray Sean Lee makes it through the rest of the season/playoffs healthy. Easily the defensive MVP. Not saying he is a one man wrecking crew but I do think he covers up a lot of blemishes, and without him things would unravel quickly.[/QUOTE]

#12 overall just one behind that defense the media loves to talk about in New York.

#1 against the run.

#4 in points scored against them.

Getting some guys back healthy...

The rest of the stats truly indicate this is an opportunistic bend don't break defense that works against anyone. They've been battle tested against the best and gotten better every single week. This all happening with arguably their best corner going down early in the season to injury and being without any proven firepower on that defensive line all season long.

Is there anyone that still doesn't believe this defense will be a major factor in the playoffs?

It's so amazing what you can do with a bunch of guys with heart that probably wouldn't be starting on most other teams.

Give Marinelli an award now. It's not debatable.

Don't sleep!

I'm a trend guy. At this stage I think that it's more important to look at what they have done more recently.

For example, right now I am looking at the four games in December and how this Cowboy defense compared to the rest of the NFL.

What I found was shocking over the past 4 weeks combined:

Led the lead in sacks.

Tied for 2nd in takeaways.

4th in points allowed

5th in yards allowed

Again, this is based on their most recent performances, the last four compared to the league. Many of you are familiar with the available data bases, so it is easily confirmed.

So that whole "bend but.don't break" tag the Cowboys had been given to describe the defense's season?.

.....Aparently, they've decided that they are not going to bend either.

I'm not surprised, I haven't been taking a nap either. I called it befit the season started but I was just a fair weather fan with rose colored glasses.

This defense is young (so is the offense) and has so much room for improvement which should scare the rest of the NFL. All this talk about who we should be scared of in the playoffs and the answer is nobody. Not a single team in the playoffs is a better team than Dallas and is not close. We are on top and teams should worry about playing us
