with all this Roy talk about how he didnt want the pass to come his way and trying to hide a safety in coverage, how many of you young'uns remember that in the nickel, Woody would cover the slot receiver? Looking back at it, Woody made Roy.

I was a Woodson fan, but I didn't know just how important he was to our D until he was gone. I took him for granted, but I'll never do that again. If we ever get another safety of his caliber, I will know what a blessing it is.

Yeah, and I remember him being James Washington's backup. Woody should be up for the HOF soon.

I wasn't sure which Woody you were referring to in your title...

Woody Guthrie?
Woody Woodpecker?
Woody Dantzler?

Ah, Darren Woodson! He was a great one indeed.

Probably the best football of Roy Williams' career was the 2nd half of his rookie season, most of which Darren Woodson missed with an injury.

Nice try.

What with all the patronizing threads lately...?

Just last week someone was asking if anyone here remembered Emmitt and Irvin. Woodson retired what 5 years ago? If you're not old enough to remember him, you're probably not posting on this board.

Hey everyone, remember Quincy Carter? Was he great or what?

Woody was a stud.

He could lay the smack down too.

I miss those days...

If there is any claim i have, it is that I got to work along side D Wood this past summer and hopefully this summer. Luckily my dad is good friends with his past sports agent. He really is a good guy. He taught me alot in the few months I spent with him. Definately my favorite cowboy of all time
