How many people think that Jerry is hoping the Lions hire Garrett?

I shared this info the last few days with people asking in PMs. Might as well share it here.

Jerry is a strange cat. He is literally thrilled at the success Tony Sparano had in Miami. At the success of Sean Payton. The guy is loyal to and loves his coaches.

If Jason Garrett stays Jerry will be thrilled. He has high hopes for him.

If Jason Garrett goes Jerry will be thrilled for Jason Garrett.

Just like with Jeff Ireland getting the Miami job. Jerry supported that 100%.

He is respected immensely for this around the NFL.

I remember Jerry stating that he wanted people to know the Dallas Cowboys organization as a place that respects its coaches and if they are given a better opportunity, Jerry would allow and honor both the person and move.

I know Jerry gets mixed reviews and rightly so, however, Jerry does wish for the success of his coaches even if it does not directly benefit his club. It does indirectly signal to other coaches that Dallas is an attractive place to coach and opportunities to progress will not be suppressed by the owner.

He's pretty dang good at ignoring history too...
Not that I'm trying to pick on you, but as far as I know RL and I don't have any issues. Just didn't agree with his take on what I posted. I have no idea what you are talking about as I have not seen any spats you've had with him. So if you were looking for a tag team partner I'll have to decline. As I said, he and I have no issues as far as I know.

You and I may be alone on this given the Jerry witch hunts, but I happen to think that is a very smart move on his part. Even the coaches he has fired speak well of him. You can't say that about some teams. He is often compared to Al Davis, but have you ever seen him treat his former coaches like Al? Even when he and Jimmy were not exactly seeing eye to eye there wasn't open distrust and enmity there.

Never needed a tag team partner yet but I was commenting on this foolishness:

I bet he's glad for Payton and Sparano because he got rid of two more decent coaches! And yeah he's real loyal to his coaches, he's had 6 head coaches since he bought the Cowboys and was super loyal:rolleyes: to the one who won him back to back superbowls! LOYAL what a joke!

I guess it's possible that you could buy into the foolishness that Jerry was not loyal to Jimmy but I would bet you know what happened.

BTW- When I need your help, I'll let you know.

See the perception is rather than respond to him, you responded to me because I dismissed his response to me. So you've had no altercations with him, just didn't like that post and didn't respond to it.

And I'm supposed to grasp all of that how exactly?

Excellent post! I remember Jerry saying something like that too!

Hate Jerry or not...but one thing about him is he is not a selfish person towards players, coaches or us fans (believe it or not)!

The man spends up the ying yang to try and promote the Cowboys and just because the Cowboys don't win the SuperBowl evey year...he becomes the worst owner in football.

Oh well...
