We need a superstar DL and safety. Then a few more solid guys.

We need another pass rusher. That would help out our secondary. With Carter coming back we're set at LB. Our secondary is also ok. The only element in our defense is the pass rush. Our run defense has been impressive thus far.

hands down the most important player needed right now is a true centre field FS(who can actually cover slot WRs and TEs well),preferably a Earl thomas clone.This is one position we havent been able to fill for years .

I'd say 4 and would add Safety to my list, looking to upgrade over Wilcox and his inconsistency.

Another pass rusher to pair with Lawrence for the future (provided he pans out as we all hope)

A defensive tackle to pair with Crawford.

A cornerback to replace Carr/Claiborne in the future

A safety (if Wilcox doesn't improve over the course of this season)

You guys are a demanding bunch. My guess is you're addressing the question of what would be required to bring this defense to the same level of dominance as the offense. That would require at least 5 or 6 guys, for sure. If that's what you're looking for, however, I'm afraid you'll be disappointed. I just don't see it being realistic in a cap-constrained environment. The good news is that it's not what this team truly needs to compete for Super Bowls.
