That's kind of my point - Special Teams is a factor for who makes that last spot, and Fehoko will certainly have the edge on Cropper there. Brown would have been cut multiple times if it was based on who had better performances as WRs in camp and pre-season.

Fehoko has a chance to fill that role now that it is available.

Because Brown - and even probably Goodwin - was on the roster.

Fehoko has barely even been active, when he has, he's played 31% of ST snaps. Brown only played 34% as a rookie.

They're on the exact same trajectory. I don't know if Fehoko will beat out those guys or not, but right now he has the edge in ST and that's what that roster spot is going to have to be.

I'll put out a hot take and say Luepke will make the 53 over Vaughn.

Vaughn's not a special teamer. He can't block on ST, can't play gunner, is too slow for KR, and never fielded a college punt. He does have a lot of potential as a punt returner, but I have never heard of a developmental ST prospect.

His way onto the field is as a pure running back. Pollard's locked in, Davis is locked in because the team will want one bigger backup RB, and then it's down to Vaughn and Jones for the final RB spot. And I know I've said it before, but Vaughn is a sub-threshold athlete as a pure RB.

Luepke though, brings an FB skillset that's rarely utilized but is unique. And he's an easy projection to ST, because he's athletic and physical enough to run down returns and has lots of prior blocking experience. For a UDFA, he's got a pretty direct route to making the final roster.

I think he is going to wind up battling Tolbert for #4. I think the 7th rounder will probably be on the PS unless he can force them to keep 6 (which they have in the past)

I think that Vaughn is a lock and Luepke has a good chance of making it because of his position flex and good short yardage runner. It depends on the health of Luepke, hopefully he recovers well and is 100% for training camp.

Reports were Fehoko was having a really good training camp and then he got hurt and he really never was given much chance after that.

Mazi, Schoon, Overshown, Vaughn are safe bets. Fehoko, Richards, Bass, Scott and the WRs will all compete for depth spots.

There are very few spots open, especially if they keep Goodwin and Turpin.

I could see him making the team... his competition is two other fringe NFLers in Davis and Rojo. I'd give him a 1% chance of handling 50 touches on offense.

I'm willing to bet that the team resigns Zeke and gives him those touches before they give Vaughn those touches.

The web back talk happens every offseason, but we haven't thrown to RBs for decades. And Vaughn is a sub-NFL ball carrier. Most of the DEs in the NFC East run faster 40s than him.
