How many sacks do you think D. Lawrence will get this season, if healthy?

8. Though the sack number's obviously less important than the pressure he can bring.

3. Questionable back issues, probably not in great shape to come in and be effective. Historically not that great to begin with. Certainly better than what we have but not saying much.

If healthy, he is a 7 sack man this season. He is not a superstar in the league since his first step is not great.

6 at best. And I'd like to take the under on every double digit guess.
Give 500 on the under please and I'd like to parlay that with Mayowa under 4

10. They'll ease him in as the designated pass rusher until he is ready to start.

10 sacks is a lot for a guys who has averaged 0.33 sacks per game so far in his career.

The other concern is D-Law only had a single sack last season in games where Greg Hardy wasn't playing and drawing most of the DL double-teams.

Having said that, if he is going to become a guy with 10+ sack production this year, year 3, is the year we'd typically see it.

5

I really don't feel like he's all that great, to be honest. I really feel like people believe he's a good pass rusher simply because having Hardy here last season made it a bit easier on him.

I don't really feel like he's going to be a huge addition to the defense although I guess someone who can get 5 sacks at this point would be a serious upgrade to what we've got.

I came in here to say the exact same thing

Garrett said Lawrence doesn't have any physical limitations and will be a full go.

Makes you wonder if Jerry has lost his mind.

10 in 12 game is the equivalent of 13 in 16 games. You really think he's a 13 sack per year guy, especially while getting double teamed often?
He got 7 in 8 games last year didn't he, and that was playing on the wrong side. Not saying he will get 10, but certainly think it is possible.

P.S. I don't think the Hardy effect was that big as he was never that big of a threat.

Hardy got more than twice the double teams of Lawrence, IIRC. And taking one streak and projecting it out to a season (or 12 games), or even projecting it to repeat is a pretty big assumption. It's much more accurate to say that Lawrence got 8 sacks on the season, in terms of projecting his future production.

I'm going with 5. I think his impact will be greater than that number suggests, however, as he's likely to demand a lot of double teams as our only true edge threat.
Seeing how he has never really been healthy..

I think 3.

Hardy ain't here no more to draw double teams.

I think he is going to be out of shape and will have nagging injuries.

Beware of hammies and that back.

They will need to limit his snaps for awhile as they try to work him in and see how he responds.

I don't believe anything Garrett says that he's a full go.

He lies a lot.

We'll see.

He's only viewed as the Savior because everyone else is so bad. Hoping he's a difference maker but I have my doubts.
