These guys are a joke, just finish last every year and get to pick # 1 and then draft jokers like
Manziel and Josh Gordon !!:muttley:

they never learn, never get better, never hire good coaches, never draft better, I officially
rename them the Cleveland Stooges !

I make fun of jerry and jg etc, but compared to the jokers in Cleveland they are genius's !

Then there is the LA Rams !! lol they just extended Fisher

:huh::muttley:

They give away a ton of draft picks for goff ?? needless to say they didnt even know who
Dak was or that he was in the draft, same for Cleveland lol

The Jags,2-10 trying hard to lose all their games so they draft # 1 but Cleveland is actually better at this !!
They know as much about team building , as Trump knows about being a common person!
Which is pretty much nothing.
I wonder how the guys who own these teams ever got rich in the first place ??
Because they dont show much brainpower when it comes to running the teams and organization.

you would think that at some point Cleveland would wise up and make some good moves, but
it doesnt look like that will happen anytime soon.
To them the SB is getting the # 1 pick or at least a top 5 if they screw up and win some games.

They haven't picked first overall since 2000.
yes but they pick high alot, and looks like they will pick 1st overall in 2017. should have titled the thread differently about rd 1 picks.
past 10 years 3 qb that were total busts, one was a joke. 1 rb was a bust , dont know about the others
haden ,shelton, and mingo I think may have turned out good?
only 3 OL,(2 were centers?) and 2 DT.
2006

13 Kamerion Wimbley LB Florida State [25]
2007 3 Joe Thomas OT Wisconsin [26]
22 Brady Quinn QB Notre Dame [27]
2008No Pick — — [27]
2009 21 Alex Mack C California [28]
2010 7 Joe Haden CB Florida
2011 21 Phil Taylor DT Baylor
2012 3 Trent Richardson RB Alabama
22 Brandon Weeden QB Oklahoma State
2013 6 Barkevious Mingo OLB Louisiana State
2014 8 Justin Gilbert CB Oklahoma State
22 Johnny Manziel QB Texas A&M
2015 12 Danny Shelton DT Washington
19 Cameron Erving C Florida State
2016 15 Corey Coleman WR Baylor ..... is he starting?

The Browns made 8 draft picks before the Cowboys selected Dak last spring.

8!!!

I believe I read that 1/3 of their roster are rookies and they have something like 13 draft picks next year.

So when they start cutting the latest crop to bring in the next crop it will not cost them as much.

They need to stop firing coaches, stick with Hue, and keep their front office intact for at least another 3 years. They blow everything up and start over when hey don't see immediate results, not realizing their talent level, organization and locker room is so bad it literally takes YEARS to make it at least at a competitive level.

I think they've got the right coach, and the right idea in stockpiling picks. They now have a ton of draft capital. If they're ever going to get it together, the time is now.

I agree...

Priority #1 needs to be to get solid QB play and get better on 3rd down.

They need to have a big draft.

They have 2 I believe. I think they have the Rams first

OK, Cleveland can sign Leary in FA, then trade both 1sts for Romo, Dez and Doug Free.

With Leary and Joe Thomas and Free Cleveland should be able to put together a good OL to protect Romo. With Romo, Dez and a good OL they could easily have a winning record.

Dallas then has 3 first rounders to get WR, DE and OT. These rookies will be much better in Dallas than they would in Cleveland because of the established structure and talent.

Cleveland could spin their wheels forever trying to build through the draft because the losing culture there could bog down rookies; whereas, Romo, Dez, Free and Leary give them instant structure and leadership.

Dallas also gets a lot of salary cap relief to sign a free agent or two.

Management in Cleveland won't be there long if they don't win soon. This type of deal makes them into heros, at least in the short term.

They actually have some nice, young pieces to build around. I'd keep Hue Jackson.

On offense, they lack a real QB obviously. But Pryor, Coleman are a legit 1-2 combo. Joe Thomas is one of the best in the game and still has some years left. Their OL is pretty good and they've got some young guys on it now. They're actually one of the more efficient teams in the league at rushing.

Defense, they have what looks to be legit NT in Shelton, so that's good. Ogbah is looking like he'll be a good DE. Haden is a talent at CB. If they can reach an agreement with Collins that's a piece at LB. Nassib is kind of a question mark at the other DE position, and they don't really have much talent at OLB which is kinda important in a 3-4. Their secondary is also abysmal outside of Haden.

They have a ton of picks again. 4 in the top 2 rounds, something like 13 total with something like 8 projected in the top 4 rounds.

It'll be interesting to see if they truly go BPA and build around a piece like Myles Garrett who looks like a franchise player, or reach for one of the QB's who won't be BPA. First pick will be QB or Garrett/Allan.

Second pick in the first is interesting. If one of the top RB's falls to them, like Cook, do you keep building your offense? They need secondary help, so they could also be looking at Sidney Jones at CB or Adams at safety.

I'm guessing they'll go QB #1 since they're the Browns, probably that dude from UNC. Depending where the Eagles end up will determine the next pick. It'd be hard to turn down Dalvin Cook or something if he's there, making their offense as easy a transition as possible for the rookie QB. It's also a deep class for pass rushers/secondary so they may "solidify" their offense round 1 then go grab defensive help in the 2/3. Or they could just defense it up. They really need a talent at safety, and Adams is legit, so if they don't go pass rusher I could see them grabbing him too.

They have so many picks it'll be fun to watch. If they draft halfway decently, they could actually build something.

Another possibility is another trade down but this QB class is pretty weak, and I don't think they're sold on Kessler/Hogan. That's too bad.

You'd think a team that drafts in the top 5 every year would have built a great roster by now. Those Cleveland fans were so hype over Manziel. I never thought he'd be a good NFL QB. I was ecstatic we got Martin that year.
