Mister arglebargle had a valid point.

This offense is capable of moving the chains with just average WRs because Romo is accurate enough when his head is right.

Much like Brady's Patriots in 2006, it could be okay with average talent. Add a talent like Moss along with Welker, it became unstoppable.

But you will not see Romo with gaudy numbers and the offense is not explosive without a big play receiver to open things up and above all, actually make a big play. That's where Owens comes in. We need an elite WR or we can spin our wheels. It is just that simple.

Don't forget our TE is a fantastic receiving option too. IND got by pretty nicely in '04 and '05 with 4 receivers on the field in Harrison, Wayne, Stokely, and TE Clark. It'd be something if we could add an elite-level guy like Fitz to go with Witten, Owens, and Crayton.

Good point that Witten does qualify as another top notch reciever. But the more weapons you put on the field, the harder it becomes to neutralize any one. Four serious recieving weapons would add dramatically to the Cowboy's attack. That means two more, at the least.
