How much better would this team be with an elite running back?

Dallas is Number 1 in offense without an elite running game. Number 1 after Niners loss for sure. That being said. Dallas needs to draft a stud running back for next season .
An elite RB would help some what they really need is better blocking in the run game

That’s the bigger issue but ya we need draft just not in round 1

I take that back when you draft 31 or 32 it’s ok

Go cowboys

Not as good as if the Cowboys had elite run blocking.

Pollard gets hit at or behind the line far far too often.

Emmitt Smith in his prime couldn't do anything about that.

Thank you.

When the run blocking scheme and blocking improves Pollard will MORE than get the job done!

Didn’t Pollard lead the league in yards per carry last year for much of the year?

Pollard hasn't been the same guy since the injury obviously but I find the running concepts to be the larger problem in the short term.

Very meh blocking concepts and designs. Seems like McCarthy and the OL coach are at peace just running him into a pile of bodies.

Heart and the soul of a team is it's own. Running back changes currently are a next season item.

Because we didn't draft a potential replacement for Pollard, we're stuck with drafting a need pick instead of a development pick at RB next year. Or maybe they plan on a real spend in free agency (with Pollard as one of those options).

I would have drafted 2 potential replacements for Pollard this year. One big one as a potential complement, and another to hope to replace him outright this year. Instead, we went low budget with Hunter and Deuce, two purely complementary guys.

How is Saquon Barkley the elite RB doing right now? I will take an amazing Oline with RBBC everday anyday and twice on Sundays.

Problem is we really don’t have a weakness on the Oline.

It’s bizarre.

It would seem he might have. But...the corollary to that is he had the least amount of carries.

Mileage may vary on what that means. Would more carries mean equal yards per carry? Or does that rate go down with heavier work load?

Its sad that some older fans still seem to have the same mindset my 14 year old son has about running the football.
Look at Swift with the eagles. Look at the eagles RB from last year who isnt even good enough suddenly to start in Carolina.
Swift was a mediocre back his entire career and now he looks like a serious weapon. Maybe its the scheme and the offensive line that is making the running game going.

Pollard on the Eagles would be Swift or better. Swift on the Cowboys would be Pollard this year or worse. Or he would be the Swift he was in Detroit.

Why is this so complicated for grown *** men.

Think it’s the scheme, the backs and the OL. Wry basic run calls, backs struggling reading the blocks and at times no holes whatsoever. Adding an elite back with another lineman perhaps a better center will help, but they need to fix their scheme as well.
