How much does Romo impact 53 man roster

Do you keep just 2 QBs planning that you can call #9 out of the stands if you need him? Doesn't make sense to keep 3. If you have a backup QB go in he can get you out of one game and then bring in Romo the next. For the 3rd strong emergency I think with the OL you can have Dez throw it 5 times to get you out of the game if it comes to that

I cannot imagine the team keeping less than 3 quarterbacks on the roster simply because of what happened last year. Now, that's not to say if the Cowboys lose Dak for the season and the backup (whoever that ends up being) doesn't play well that they won't contact Romo and see if he's interested in returning, but there's no way they factor Romo (who may very well say "no" to return) into their quarterback decision process.

If you guys think for one second that if Dak gets hurt early or late and we are in contention and Romo isnt gonna be suiting up you are crazy. He is our backup dont get it twisted.

then delusion reigns supreme. romo would either be mr glass at that point or be so rusted that the experiment would be a failure.

if he could seriously still play then he'd be in a camp now.

It totally hinges on it. Mark my words. We go into the regular season with NO backup on the 53 with commissioner Gordon standing at the ready to pick up the Batphone.

It doesn't impact the 53.

However, I guarantee that Romo would return if Dak has a season-ending injury.
In that scenario, Romo would essentially take Dak's roster spot as he would go to IR.

Newly retired QBs get calls regularly. Just look at Jay Cutler in Miami.
Arizona begged Kurt Warner to return for a couple years after retirement but his
crazy wife said no. Aikman was approached several times after retirement.
Even Brett Favre was called by the Rams a couple seasons ago.

There are only so many quality NFL QBs on the planet.

Jerry has Romo on speed dial.
He's fully heathy and knows the offense.

Those of you that dismiss Romo coming back if need be aren't living in reality and didn't like Romo to begin with.

Romo didn't retire because he couldn't play. He retired because no one wanted to take on his contract.

I hate to say it but Romo is not coming back. I think there is some wishful thinking taking place but Romo has moved on at some point fans will need to do the same.
