Just curious to know everyones thoughts on what we see and hear every year from the reporters for the team. Every year I get excited about new names stepping up and being the next breakout player based off reporting from TC. This player is catching everything, that player is dominating, this guy had the most interceptions in camp, but it seems like every year, they end up doing diddly squat and not showing anything, even in preseason games.

Its to the point where this year, I haven't really been keeping up with the reporting, because i think anybody called out won't be as good, like Lance Lenoir. Or remember how Byron was a star last camp? well, he's ranked as the number 1 best player in camp so far on the DC site...and they mean it this time lol. Not trying to be negative. Love the team, ready for the preseason games, and all that, but i'm skipping the training camp detailed recaps this year. If the next breakout start is coming, we'll all see him during the season. anyone else ever feel like this?

It's all we got. Media, "defense shuts down the offense all week in TC!!" Then the SFran game and they score 36 in a PS game. We all go the defense sucks, we're doomed!

Same thing we've been saying every year......

The only TC reports I see are posted here. I don't actively search them out.

Sometimes it depends on the source as well. But overall I won’t take much from anything. But whatever is reported good or bad, but mostly it has been good. Though to read from the usuals on here, it will all be bad.

But even with all the good reports, I like it, but I still will not 100% believe it until I see it on the field. And even the preseason games I will not try to get too hyped up. I usually do, it this year I am trying not to.

Still have a lot of concerns. S, DT, TE and WR. Though I think we have some decent players. But none stand out either. But maybe they will in games. Once they game plan things in game one and two.

By this time of the year I'm desperate for Cowboys football, so yes I like hearing the reports. Can't always trust what you hear, but I still like hearing the reports.

Almost none because those reports are coming from the local Dallas media or team employees. Obviously the practices are important but those evaluating them don't mean much to me.

Not much! Most of the reports are designed to garner fan enthusiasm for the coming season. In reality you're probably not going to get an idea of where the team is at until about 6 games in. After the 1st game last year, people on here were touting they were going to be a dominant defense and many wanted to lock up Paea into a long term contract. They got trounced by a backup qb the following week and Paea was retired by the 4th game. Price beat Frederick in a compete drill and people on here are making him the starter. He hasn't even been practicing with the 1st team and if he actually makes the team, he'll most likely only be playing a series or 2 and short yardage like last year!

It’s just your team against your team. You can talk yourself into anything.

There’s definitely things to learn from camp.
One can do A/B comparisons.

E.G.
Lenoir facing Awuzie
Versus
Gallup facing Awuzie

From footage you also can gauge how players move, bend, cut...
