How much time does Cooper need to learn the offense?

I don't have any info on whether or not he's a quick study, but I hope he is. The sooner he can start stretching the field and get in sync with Dak, the better.

A week lol

I'm guessing he'll need longer than that and that they'll start with a limited play set. I wish he could have been in training camp to develop timing with his QB, but not possible. I just hope our fans don't expect him to be at 100 percent in a week. Some people think players are plug and play like a computer system (not you -- I know you were kidding.)

I was told by many this play book was only 3 pages deep.. and was not front and back printed.

On a serious note I think its been reported before hes been other guys who are in the Linehan coaching tree so im sure hes familiar with some basic terminology and what will be expected of him. This bye week will be a good thing

Lots of Dak haters on this timeline (which is expected on an NFL site)

We heard our receivers run only a few routes. I'm guessing it takes him a day or so. Much better than Dez who took years. :muttley:

Why are you even bringing Dez up. They aren't the same type of WR at all.

It's like comparing Beasley to Alshon Jeffery.
Weird here how people can not discuss in generalities.

Both #1 WRs.

That is an exact comparison.

Dez was notorious for being undisiplined and incapable of running a route tree.

I did not say that. Others did.

You do not want Dez in the conversation ?

As Adrian Cronower would say..too late.

He will forever be compared to Dez.

Why would he be forever compared to Dez? B/c you want to keep making stuff up to talk bad about him? The whole 3 routes thing is trash, always has been. Nobody on the team runs a varied route tree - it's the same complaint Beasley has as well.

Geoff Swaim and Gronk are both #1 TEs, would you compare them? Were you the type to grade compare Marcus Spears to Jared Allen too? That logic is dumb.

To seriously address your question, Garrett did say this : "It's going to require overtime by him, by the coaches, to get him going," Garrett said. "But we do benefit from having the bye and having a few extra days."

The passing plays are on a index card. He will be fine. It’s about getting the timing down.

Your logic..not mine.

That's another weird thing in this forum..

when somebody starts to lose a discussion..

they invent some point that supports them regardless if relevent.

Nice job , bro.

I don’t think players can practice during bye week as per league rules. Hope Dak invited him and other WR to his place to get the timing down with more reps, ala Tom Brady...

I didn't like a first for him, but now that he's a Cowboy, he has my full support. It'll probably take several games for him and Dak to get in a rhythm. We gotta be patient.

Cooper will start out with a few basic plays just so the Cowboys can line him up against the Titans.

He's going to be the "shiny new toy" for a while, so Dallas can even use him as a decoy until he learns more of he playbook.
