How much would it cost to pry Bosa from the Chargers?

San Diego is being idiotic and doing things in typical Spanos fashion. Every other team in the League has abandoned offset language for top 10 picks. But not surprisingly the Spanos ownership doesn't want to acquiesce to the latest trend in the League.

Bosa's mom is right...Todd (his agent) and CAA should have pulled an Eli.

Edit: for those who love blaming the players all the time, I recommend reading a piece in the San Diego Union-Tribune. The local paper is blaming the owner and front office of the Chargers. Just Google Joey Bosa and you'll find the article.

Repeat after me. We cannot absorb the contract for Bosa under our rookie cap allotment.

There is a reason the slotted draft system is to the team's advantage.

Bosa should have had his mom get on Facebook before the draft and pull the Eli.

He is not going anywhere.

You sure the league would not adjust it given the circumstance?

That is uncertain and at worst he smoked pot which if you listen to Stepnoski about 40% of the league does. What he doesn't have is a dependency such that he cannot stop otherwise he would have ended up like Gregory and failed his test at the combine. He seems to know how to play the game.

My motto is smoke all the pot you want, just dont fail the test. BTW, supposedly his parent moved him off campus last year to curtail his party boy ways. Not just the usual beer and pot.

Someone gets it.

..........a "really good defensive player"..........word was he couldn't win a single battle in OTA's.........can a top 5 pick be a bust before even getting to his 1st training camp
I just read an article about him that said he looked great at minicamp and otas. Not sure where you are getting your information from?

Maybe. Depends on what Bosa is telling them. If they cannot sign him by next summer he goes back into the draft and they get nothing. He can very easily go back to OSU for his senior year even if he cannot play football in the interim.
He might be a hot commodity come trade deadline.

What is the deadline he has to sign by before he goes into the next draft?

Which is basically what I posted in my response to Fuzzy Lumpkins. This is more about the allocations of a signing bonus and not guaranteeing a contract for a player if they cut him before the contract expires (thus allowing a player to "double dip") should the player sign with another team. Valid arguments could be made for both sides.

The fact remains, I didn't want his *** before the draft and I wouldn't waste future draft picks on him now. He was getting his *** whipped in OTAs already this year and is two weeks behind the rest of his team. AFAIK he's a drug risk to begin with and that's the last thing we need on this team (especially on the D-line).

I've read where Wood, The undrafted guy from SMU was giving Collins a lot of trouble. I'm not trying to say that Collins is garbage but I don't know
That was before there was a rookie cap. Players held out all the time back then. I wasn't a fan of the idea of even drafting Bosa THIS year. I sure as hell ain't giving up future picks for a diva DE.
I'm with you. His mom needs to shutup. It's sickening that however many millions he's being offered, Isn't enough.

Leary 1st and 2018 3rd. Not sure if I do it but I think that could be the least amount to get it done.
Thank goodness some of you boys aren't in the front office..sheesh.

"What's that? Our first round picks for the next 8 years for that dude who's already holding out of his first contract, Bosa? Deal!"

Not saying we will or should trade for him but I'm sure the Jones' would restructure whoever they need to in order to fit him in.

I also think the allotment for draft picks would change since he is currently an unsigned draft pick. I'm not sure if this has ever happened, a draft pick holding out and being traded in their rookie year, but the rookie allotment adjusts to the number of draft picks you have.

I get what you are saying though, that weird scenario of squeezing a player into your rookie allotment happened when we traded for Drew Henson. Henson was a previous year draft pick though.
