It does appear that Brinkley at least is insurance if he doesn't return, but since the Cowboys have been in contact with McClain, I don't think he's out of the picture. They seem to be taking FA mostly in stages.

Won't be surprised if McClain is in the next stage, but it might be Peterson first.

Wasn't thrilled about losing Murray, Durant, and Carter, but we signed competent alternatives at a fraction of their costs.

And that money we saved by going bargain shopping at LB/RB went to a guy named Greg Hardy. I can dig it.
