That's what I originally thought also. But one of the comments stated otherwise which made me think it was what I wrote so I put it in to explain. Then I went back and it was just from a person commenting not the originator of the tweet, so I think you are correct

The defense was historically bad and the worst in franchise history, the special teams unit wasn't special, but the offense was ranked 4th overall at the least.... unless being ranked 4th overall league wide is considered "the new bad", the offense had to over-compensate just for the team to miraculously squeeze out 7 wins.

The offense wasn't some unstoppable juggernaut. It routinely took weeks off.

Being at the very top of penalties and at the bottom of plus/minus takeaways has alot to do with it.

I saw this on Reddit yesterday and it was created by a fan cherry picking data to make a misleading argument.

What they want you to think is that the Cowboys are an unstoppable offensive machine that marches down the field and is best in the league on third down.

Leaving out all drives under four plays is blatant data manipulation. It leaves out quick scoring drives. It leaves out any drives with turnovers on downs 1-3.

It's funny how a custom filter completely reverses reality.

The Niners, who this chart bumps down to 2nd, are actually the real #1 team in the league at 49.8%. This filter literally takes the actual #10 team (cowboys) and flips them over the real #1 team

The Cowboys are also 17th in the league at red zone touchdown percentage (56.9%) which is one of the challenges last year that kept our offense from being truly elite. We stalled in the redzone and either kicked field goals, failed on fourth down or turned the ball over way more often than our overall yardage and scoring numbers might lead you to believe.

Also, this was almost certainly made by a fan using AI and not even using it well

Where are 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 23, 25, 26, 28, 29, and 31?

It’s obvious you didn’t watch the games last year. One of the best offenses the Cowboys have ever had and you crap on it. You haters are just at a very low level.

But see what this really tells us is the debate we were having throughout the week and at other times about the Cowboys red zone inefficiency I tell them that they counter that with a lot of long drives and it doesn't matter if it ends up with just a field goal or if they score outside of the red zone they're still scoring they score a lot and they use their field goal kicker just about at the same rate as some of the better teams in the league last year like the Super Bowl winning Seattle Seahawks led the league in how many kick attempts and their kicker led the league in points.

People want to pick apart this offense but they don't realize how efficient and how really good it was last year regardless of some of the little droughts they had the second half or any problems that they may have had where we can find reasoning for it the Cowboys offense was more impressive than people think and guess who LED that that would be the guy everyone says should have never even interviewed for the job his name is Brian Schottenheimer the man needs more respect on coming in here and taking over and actually creating a better offense even though we've always had good offenses I think year two he has a whole another chapter of his playbook that he's gonna install..

So yes it was impressive how great the offense was and how much of a let down it was because how about the defense and special teams were I mean this team deserved to have 12 wins last year by how good the offense was and Brian Schottenheimer is getting too much heat for having a 7 win season when they're not looking at what he was responsible for was actually really good I know he's the head coach you're gonna say he was responsible for the rest of the team and I'm telling you he wasn't it was out of his control with the amount of injuries and I don't think even him could see that the defense was gonna be that bad The injuries were a big part of it. The injuries were a big part of it.

Yeah I'm glad you posted this because I wanted to post it II saw it on Twitter this morning early but it's true the Cowboys offense in most every category last year was one of the best in the league and Brian Schottenheimer is not getting enough credit for how efficient that offense was the run game was improved pass game was more linked to the run game it was harder to diagnose and I realized there was some droughts in some of the games in the second half and what not but he needs more credit than he is given and I bet the offense is even better this year even if we don't score as much or if it doesn't look impressive I think his next chapter that is adding to the offense that he wants to the little wrinkles he's gonna add is gonna make it even better I think the run game is gonna even be better I think they're gonna use the backs out of the backfield more more sweeps more things to the outside they didn't do a lot last year..

You mean you didn't get a bigger rise out of the fact that the Eagles were dead last and this offseason getting rid of AJ Brown And from what I'm hearing and you know I can't confirm nor deny whether this is true but the new offensive coordinator that he chose to fix these problems is not gelling very well..

Be it just looks like that in the preseason but this looks like where they couldn't figure out how to replace some of their better assistance you know before Moore, now after Kellen Moore I mean that's pretty bad the Eagles are dead last in three and outs..

I mean I'm kind of wondering how some of our fan base in here are very critical of our red zone offense and they're talking about the offense needs to improve and that they're still concerned about the offense well the offense last year was one of the best in the NFL and I'm not concerned at all and I think it's gonna even be better even if you don't see it..
