Its simple - this was the first broadcast game by CBS. They needed their 15 minutes of fame talking about the Scoreboard.

Nothing has changed my belief that jeff fisher told the punter to hit the board on purpose.

Wouldn't surprise me. Being a key part of the competition committee, he probably hated the thing going in and wanted to find a way to make a strong case against it.

then he missed by what looked about two feet in the second qtr from hitting it.

that lechler is incredible. He had a punt go 72 yards in the air today.

I dont think it mattered with lechler.

I think he could have hit the roof had it been closed. I have never seen a punter like that in person.

facts are facts- the board has not been hit. And the board itself was NOT raised. Some banners, signs whatever that hung underneath were removed.

the mitsubishi sign was moved to the top.

But if you look at the thread from about a month ago, a bunch of us had shots of the scoreboard from the same spots before and after the u2 concert and it looks like it went up 5 feet or so.....

and lechler hit it today in warmups.

Again though, its not an issue.
