Wasn't Parsons a pro bowler in 2021 season? He had more sacks than many on the list. Or was this the 2021 PB for the 2020 season?

Dallas Edge Rushers > NFL Pro Bowl Edge Rushers

OK here's a more complete list that includes all 2021 Pro Bowl defensive ends, plus a few recent mega-stars. A handful, of course, have had injuries.

TEAM 2021 NFL PRO BOWLERS +

Nick Bosa, 49ers, 11.5
Myles Garrett, Browns 10
Chris Jones, Chiefs 10
Brian Burns, Panthers 10
Maxx Crosby, Raiders, 8
JJ Watt, Cardinals, 6.5
Trey Hendrickson, Bengals, 6
Cameron Jordan, 5.5
Aaron Donald, Rams, 5
Josh Sweat, 4.5
Frank Clark, Chiefs, 3
Shaquil Barrett, Bucs, 3
Joey Bosa, Chargers, 1.5
TJ Watt, Steelers, 1.5
Robert Quinn, Eagles, 1
Chandler Jones, Raiders, .5
Harold Landry, Titans, 0

Average Sacks: 5.6

TEAM 2022 COWBOYS
Micah Parsons, Cowboys,12
Dorance Armstrong, Cowboys, 8
Tank Lawrence, Cowboys, 6

dude, Sam Williams also has 3…..

also, with Indy, Houston, and Wash still on the schedule it’s realm of possible to get four guys to double digit sacks

Yes he was. But I assigned him on Team Dallas, rather than on 2021 Team ProBowl.

All the sack totals I listed are for this 2022 season.

Don't think 4 will get to 10. I'm expecting teams to go turtle on us...play ultra conservative. But hopeful!

If the Cowboys average 3 sacks a game they will set a new franchise record.

If he Cowboys average 4.5 sacks a game they will set a new NFL record.

Currently, the Cowboys have 45 sacks. The franchise record is 62, set in 1985. The NFL record is 72, set by Chicago in 1984.

In a 16 game season, we’re on pace for 65 sacks. With the extra game this year we’re on pace for 70. So still shy by 2 with the extra game. But impressive nonetheless. Keep in mind, Micah had some games where he was less than 100% and Sam Williams wasn’t much of a factor early in the season. So it is possible that we’re better in these final 6 games.

The Dallas Cowboys hold the record for most sacks in a single game along with three other teams.

The Cowboys accomplished that feat in 1985 against poor Warren Moon and the Houston Oilers. Moon also threw 4 INT's. Randy White, "Too Tall" Jones, and John Dutton each had two sacks. The rest is distributed among 8 other players, two of the sacks were split.

That game has to give nightmares to Warren to this day.

Anyway, something to think about. Should the Cowboys defense set a new record in a single game then they are practically assured of setting a new NFL season record as well.

Two Cowboys teams are in a 15 way tie for 5th most sacks in a single game with 11.

The first happened in 1975 to Greg Landry and the Detroit Lions. Landry lost so much yardage on the sacks that their net passing yards was 27 for the game.

The 2nd happened to a quarterback named David Norrie for the New York Jets, a former 11th round draft pick. It was his very first start. His next game was his last.

There have been 48 occasions in which a defense sacked the opponents 10 or more times in a game. Those teams were 43-4-1. The Cowboys have accomplished this 6 times.

The Cowboys were on the bad end of this stat twice. The first was against the San Diego Chargers and the Cowboys actually won. Steve Pelluer was sacked 11 times, 5 by the DROY Leslie O'Neal. That game also featured the tragic Mike Sherrard's best rookie game with 4 catches for 115 yards.

The second was against Buddy Ryan's Eagles in 1991. The Eagles defensive line of Reggie White, Jerome Brown, Clyde Simmons and Mike Pitts feasted on Troy Aikman 11 times.

That was a beat-down in so many ways. And not just for Troy! Morbidly depressing game.

I think this was this Eagles game where Troy was bleeding from the ears. However, it could have been the Eagles game his rookie season. They were both two of the five games in which Troy was sacked the most in his career.
