How was Wilcox? *merge*

Was his first game being thrown in the fire I think he did well in run support they didn't really go at him, looks like nobody can get away when he gets his hands on them.

Does anyone know if Wilcox is the FS or SS? I get the feeling that he's more of a ballhawk FS but I thought I remembered reading that Church is our starting FS.

On second thought, it could be that it doesn't really matter who is FS or SS in Tampa 2...can anybody clarify?

Church is listed as the FS but as you said I'm not sure there's much a difference between the FS/SS in this defense, I'm not an expert though

Defense was dominant. They started getting it going late and thats when the drops started happening.

Could have something to do with it being a contract season.

exactly my thoughts. I'm not arguing with the results, just this guy could teach a class in marketing. Kudos to him for that though.

Love the chemistry between Church and Wilcox. Also loved how church was around the ball all game and was always talking up the guys and tapping them on the helmet. These 2 guys could be our best safeties in a long time

I just hope church doesn't get hurt. Seems like a team favorite in the locker room to me.

Wilcox had a great debut. He flies toward the ball, plays very physical. He's a premier athlete who has that knack and will knock the snot out of you. The sky really is the limit with this kid.

Church was coaching him out there, helping him get into the right spot. As others have said, I'm more excited about this safety duo than I've been in a looooong time.

Hi guys I don't post much but I've been reading this board since I was 14 (21 now). I missed the game today and I can't find any highlights. I recently moved into a new place and I don't have cable hooked up yet so i cant just watch espn. Does anyone have a link to some highlights of the game. I really wanna see escobars td catch. Sorry for going off topic from the OP. I didn't wanna start my own thread. Appreciated..

I love the speed and explosion he played with out there! He brings the wood when he tackles!

Wilcox is going to be part of an impressive core of young players on defense. Incredible speed this defense plays with-what a breath of fresh air.

Has anyone had a chance to break down the game yet? If so, how did he play? I saw that int he made that was called back. Did he play like a rookie?

I thought he played solid. He was reacting quickly to the line on run plays and did not give up anything in the passing game.

The defense was indeed pretty dominant.

- Boys D had 6 sacks...the Rams hadn't given up any in their first 2 games

- The Rams were 1 for 13 on 3rd down

- 2.9 ypc is what Rams RB's average

- The Rams had 18 yards of offense at the half

Wilcox had his Int called back.

Coach Kiffin said:
“He did a nice job,” defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin said. “He had a setback with his mother, which is totally understandable. He’d had a good off-season. In Oxnard, he played pretty well. But he missed some time and it’s hard. Will Allen has done a nice job. We respect the job Will Allen has done. Will’s been a great help to the young guys. But we wanted to get J.J. out there, because he does have a lot of ability. If you don’t play those young guys, you’ll never know. Don’t put them out there in the 10th game of the year. Find out if they can play.”
