How will Dak's 3rd year turn out?

I appreciate your honesty, but - like I asked that other guy: what do you think the FO does?
Corso--- i want to answer your question even if it was rhetorical....the FO is all about fan perception spinning...how else could Jerry take a 180 million dollar investment and turn it into a 4.5 billion dollar empire all on yester-years winnings and the narrative " this could and should be our year"...but i will not forgive them if we suck because lack of good 1-tech or free safety and its been this way for years...

Honestly, folks I see no reason why Dak won't have a better year than the last one -- even with newbie WRs to adjust to. The OL will afford him more time, so that, in itself will make his job easier. I'm assuming, of course, that he's working hard in the offseason to improve his footwork and his accuracy.

Just win the Super Bowl Dallas --that's the bottom line. :starspin::starspin::starspin::starspin::starspin::starspin:

To see the future, simply look to the past...

If we are somehow able to once again line up 3 1st team All-Pros on the OL and another one in the backfield (2016 is the only time in NFL history that happened) against mediocre competition then: top 10 QB.
If one of those guys misses a game, apparently: bottom 5 QB.

What could go wrong?
super kaz---- ha ha ha you are a riot...i am angry yet that dude that talks on first take i think says "cowboys are an accident waiting to happen"...last year we epitomized that phrase now the guy has so much ammo and wont ever stop saying it

1) He lacks talent and the more he plays the more it will show.

2) The weapons around him are the worst we've seen here since the Campo era.

dave---would you rather not go to a super bowl or lose one the way Atlanta did?..ahead 28-3 in 3rd quarter and lost...we did something similar in 2011 when we played Detroit...and if Jason got into a super bowl ....would he not find a way to lose it??..apologize for my very crummy attitude at the present....no you are right and i am the one screwed up

Dak is a game manager...

He was a game manager in college..

He was a game manager his rookie season..

He was a game manager last season..

His QB coach/ guru also helped develop Alex Smith , another game manager..

Tyrod Taylor , Case Keenum , Brandon Weeden , Teddy Bridgewater, are game managers...

Would any one build their franchise around them? (while paying them 25 mil a year) of course not.

They are stop gap / backup type of players.

Unless Dak learns how to put the team on his back while things aren't perfect he will not get a second contract here.

In this salary cap era , you commit football suicide if you pay a "game manager" 25 mil a year...

I would love to have Dak at 10 -15 mil a year but does anybody think that "the greatest QB in cowboys history" will take that deal ? Ha!

I would rather draft another low round QB and hand the ball off 40 times a game and tell the young QB "Only throw the ball when the receiver is wideopen, we don't care about yards or TDs , your only job is to not lose the game."

I guarantee you that whoever that rookie QB is will have "the best rookie season" because his QBR will go through the roof by only making safe easy throws..

You have no idea what RPO means. It is not the crap they ran with RG3, that is a read option. RPO means Dak makes a read based on the defense's alignment and either hands the ball off or passes.
here is a blurb i copied and pasted about RPO's---

The biggest concern with RPOs is the quarterback getting hit,” Oklahoma State OC Mike Yurcich says. “After all, part of the deal here is that they are blocking as if it’s a run play; they are not protecting the passer. [ESPN’s] Jon Gruden calls it ‘Ridiculous Pass-protection Offense,’ and I understand what he’s saying. We’ve got to get to where it’s sound, so we feel the quarterback can make a read, and if he’s correct in what he sees, then he shouldn’t take a hit.”

don't want to beat up a dead horse here just keep Mr. Rush and Mr. White warmed up on them sidelines!
poor Dak...he may not make north of 20 mil a year...maybe only 10-15 million..poor Dak..feel sorry for him...how will he get by???...hehehe..actually i love mike white...the dude has both an arm and touch..beautiful downfield arcs on ball to fall into hands of receivers...he was a 3 round grade and we got him in 5th...secretly i hope he becomes our franchise QB

Mike White is already on the rostor

Jipper-- you are 100% correct..it is not the team or the potential that is the issue...its my crummy attitude that needs fixing..actually hope springs eternal for me is a spiritual issue...and that needs improvement too...thanks for the encouragment

well said, and way to know yourself....its understandable to have a bad attitude toward the team given the past 20 years....there are many posters on here that are very jaded yet don't have the ability to understand why they feel the way they do, all they know is anger...you sir know who you are and its refreshing, kudos.

I hope you enjoy this season more than any season you have in the past 23 years....

Ranching-- i must say i love your attitude sir...when cowboys have a season like last year it takes me usually until mid-summer to recover...for me personally on subject of Dak...RPO's say i cannot yet successfully throw downfield from the pocket..and RPO's will eventually expose Dak to injury...so i hope his making the pro-bowl this year is a testament he improved greatly passing from the pocket and not that he was just a great game manager while the team went 12-4...because game managing only works if your team is healthy...unless i am missing something?
RPOs will only exposehi. More to injury if heshthe one running the ball, hand it to Zeke then suck up the defense, pull it out of Zeke's belly and let it Rio down field. His arm is plenty strong,, execution of the play is key. BetterBetter runners will help immensely.

What happens when big defensive line men start taking free shots at Dak (even though he hands off the ball to Zeke) and he gets injured?

Isn't that why teams stopped trying to run the Kaepernick offense?

As I said , running QBs don't get the benefint of the doubt ask Cam Newton.

It's not worth it... In college , coaches don't mind doing it because they have those kids for 4 years Max but I guarantee you that if Dak doesn't learn how to beat a defense from the pocket without gimmicks, his career will be short lived..

It's going to give this homer great pleasure to watch young Dak mow the opponents and haters down.
He'll do great

We're you rooting for Chaz Green to prove us "haters" wrong also? Or were you jumping for joy when the team signed his replacement ?

You care more about one player than the team...

Go Cowboys!

Zeke isn't a running QB like those guys. Run pass option doesn't mean to fake a run, it means he reads the defense and takes what is given to him. The playnactipli described was just for effect. Lol
