How will Dak's 3rd year turn out?

Zeke isn't a running QB like those guys. Run pass option doesn't mean to fake a run, it means he reads the defense and takes what is given to him. The playnactipli described was just for effect. Lol

I understand that , but if Dak never runs , why would teams even fear the threat of a run?

Dak ,in the new offense, will run..

Also , at some point, defenses will catch on and the RPO fake will only give defensive ends more time to get to the QB.. there's a reason why most passes come from 3 step drops.

The run threat is Zeke not Dak.

RPO’s are not QB runs and RPO’s are not the offense that Kaepernick was running in San Fran. That’s the read option

The eagles ran a ton of RPO’s with Nick Foles at QB last year.

They have nothing to do with the QB running. The QB either hands it to the running back if the Linebacker hesitates or steps back. If the Linebacker steps forward, the QB throws the ball quickly into the gap behind the LB.

There really is no increases risk of the QB getting hit by running an RPO, as there is any other play action pass

Dak's 3rd year will turn out highly dependent upon what the circumstances of the entire team's performance is. The destiny of any team's QB will. it's a team game and as long as that's the case, the team's results should be judged with that clearly in mind. One man can only do so much.

This is the years sirs and ladies. The truth will come out about dak. He legit ot not legit?
This is silly, why even question his ability? I really don't know how any football fan, especially a boys fan would think otherwise, Dak is a good QB, destined to be great.
His stats says it all, only haters think he's a bad qb.
Plus he knows he's got a big payday coming up the dude is going to earn big money and he's going to do good things

1) He lacks talent and the more he plays the more it will show.

2) The weapons around him are the worst we've seen here since the Campo era.
Yeah the delusion here is strong. "Dak will flourish without that lame HOF tight end he'll have 3 scrubs to throw to."

And journeyman Tavon Austin is the new Gale Sayers and Hurns is Jerry Rice II.

The offense is a train wreck led by a limited declining QB

Corso--- i want to answer your question even if it was rhetorical....the FO is all about fan perception spinning...how else could Jerry take a 180 million dollar investment and turn it into a 4.5 billion dollar empire all on yester-years winnings and the narrative " this could and should be our year"...but i will not forgive them if we suck because lack of good 1-tech or free safety and its been this way for years...

If your wanting the slow space eater it aint going to happen and many DC around the league are turning away from the traditional space eater players for strong quick penetrater. Jerry Jones has stated that they'll be looking for safety help.

mr zebra.... or runs it himself sir...no i am quite aware of what an RPO is

RPO - Run Pass Option
QB hands off to RB or keeps and passes.
OL Run Blocks
WRs (some) run a pass route.
QBs read is often Pre-Snap.

Read Option

QB hands off to RB or keeps and runs himself.
QB reads Post Snap.
OL Run blocks.

Play Action
Play is a pass. No option.
QB, RB and OL initially show run.
OL pass blocks after faking Run blocking.

The RPO does not necessarily require a running type QB; whereas, the Read Option is based on the QB out running somebody (usually a DE). There is some increased risk to the QB because the OL is run blocking but nothing like the risk with the Read Option.

If I say what I really think I’ll get some stupid label. Was never a fan of his in College and it hasn’t changed since he’s been in the league. Great guy, Good attitude, but I’m not a fan of his as a franchise QB.

I hope that his ball placement will be better, I hope he isn’t missing wide open players for TD’s because he can’t anticipate, or doesn’t see the whole field. I’m not one who expects him to throw for 4K yards 30 tds and 9 picks. But I do expect him to elevate his game a bit, but if this team is struggling because of the passing game i hope the coaches either figure it out or give the other guys a shot.

Theres a huge split in the fanbase that thinks so and that thinks not. So it's not really silly.

I believe Dak has a bounce back year...

3700 yds
64% comp
25 TDs
6 INTS

Not a world beater or top 5 QB— but he is a leader, he is smart, he is a hard working competitor, and has the best OL/RB combo in the NFL to lean on.

The team is young, hungry, with a lot left to prove. Lots of new coaches, less distractions, and the way has been cleared for this to be 100% Dak’s team.

Huge year for him and I think he steps up. I think we win 10 or more games this year
Post of the day!

As I’ve said in other posts, I think he’ll be fine this year and bounce back. My main concern is what will he be like 2-3 years down the road if our O line isn’t one of the best and if Zeke isn’t here, isn’t as good or gets injured?

Basically, say he has a good year and we hand him a huge contract. Will he be worth it if he doesn’t have one of the best O lines and RB’s in the NFL? Based on last year, no, he wouldn’t be and if and when that happens we’ll probably have already handed him a huge contract and end up with a Joe Flacco type of situation. That would be a nightmare.

In other words, he can obviously drive the bus and be successful when all 4 wheels are turning but will he be able to even keep control of the bus if a wheel or two goes flat?
