How will the coaches fix the run game (if possible)? It's bad

The strongest link is Tyler Smith.

Now you have the following:
2 Rookies
Steele getting blown up like he is a rookie
Old man Zack whose body is failing him and gets zero push in the run game.
Sprinkle in some trash at RBC for good measure.

There is absolutly no fixing it. The only hope is the rookies improve as the season progresses, Steele becomes like he was paid to be and Zack's replacement is drafted.
Pretty much spot on and add the fact that we have the worst RB group in the NFL.

Not a fan of our OL coach either.

You play to your strengths. Use the passing game to set up the run. McCarthy is trying to establish the running game first so the other team can just load up in the box and shut down our JAG RBs. Running on 1st down constantly is just a waste of time because we don’t have RBs that are a threat. Come out aggressively passing and force teams to move their safeties back and then hit them with a run. This RB by committee is working out about as good as the time they decided that WR by committee was a good idea.
Great idea but our WRs as a group rank poorly in the separation category and our OTs are struggling in pass protection. Just a bad combo.

I do think McCarthy could help the WRs if he got more creative with the play calling.
