Yeah and they were a bad Tom Brady pass away from going to the super bowl last year, with a bunch of no name WR's, and a worse defense then this year.

This Pats team is for real, and its going to take a close to perfect game for us to beta them.

Yeah, Brady didn't seem to do so well when the game was on the line and there was no camera man recording defensive signals because they were banned from the game.

Exception that proves the rule?

Those arent exceptions, those are some of the finest offensive teams in the history of the league, who supposedly couldnt be stopped and all lost at the hands of Bellichicks odd schemes.

What he does should not be labeled a gimmick as you said, they are very intelligent gameplans.

Why do you think steve young has so much contempt for belichick? he drove those 49ers nuts by taking away their tight ends disrupting their timing. No one else in that era could do it. they did it repeatedly.

Playing one defensive lineman half the game in super bowl 25 was pure brilliance, not gimmick. I still contest the offense won that game, but belichick was near perfect and his players executed flawlessly much like this group does in new england.

its the same thing he did to the colts and after three years of the defense kicking their tight ends and wr tails at the line of scrimmage the league stepped in after all the whining from polian, manning and former players like steve young..

I could see Belicheat playing coverage on Romo. So many of Romo's big plays have come on scrambles out of the pocket or on bliztes, I bet he makes Romo slowly march down the field and hopes Tony will get antsy and go for too much or just misfire and stop drives. We should be able to run against that, but like you guys say, we need to prove we can run effectively against it.

that is exactly what I see cl.

If I had that personnell I would leave 7 guys up everytime, move one of the safeties up a hair on craytons side and take away all those intermediate routes, crossing, dig and out routes we have been living off...

I personally dont think we can run on their front 7. I dont think it would be in our best interests either to load up the line of scrimmage like last week and try and pound it. Vince Wilfork, Adalius thomas, rosey colvin and ty warren are going to be near impossible to run on.

when you can play Adalius thomas inside, you are loaded. When seymour comes back they are going to be off the charts good.

We havent been able to throw a deep ball yet and complete it. So I would imagine crayton will be one on one with no help, just like the rams did it only it wont be spare parts like bartel and walls covering him.

I thought you were saying something gimmicky happened in those examples. Game-planning doesn't mean gimmicky, so I'm not sure what you're trying to say.

from your first post I thought you were implying Bill Bellichick is gimmicky, meaning his defensive schemes. If not then no big deal. The guy is a master at exposing the weakness.

I see this as the toughest test for Romo yet, like parcells said it will be one of those days where everything he can do will be taken away and we will see how he handles it. the biggest thing is going to be the pats may get into the 30s and that will put pressure on romo to move the ball and take chances.

no, i dont think that is neccessary. the 90 bills offense was tremendous and the giants had some big slow guys so he came up with the 7 db all game. Genius.

One thing I noticed about Romo though, he plays play ground football.

No scheme really bothers him because if someone's coming from any side or another, he will simply find the opened guy, and hit him or run out of the blitz to buy him more time. It's really amazing.. However, I hope he can do that against NE, and Buffalo for that matter.

Everything cant be taken away. There is always a weakness on any defense, or else everyone would be using the same scheme.

Witten AND Fasano on their linebackers is money. This could actually be a breakout game for Fasano, because they'll be so intent on stopping Witten.
Good call, was thinking the same thing. Attack the middle of the feild with the TE's and T.O. Can you see Seau trying to cover TO on a crossing route, bye see ya!!

I think this is a classic chess match for Bellichick. How to shut down our potent offense. He has said the 2 coaches he goes up against that are the best X&O's guys are Shannahan and Phillips.

What is going to concern the Hoodie is we can beat him running and throwing. Well, with MB3 running that is. If Hoodie tries a Saints contain Romo in pocket he runs risk of getting picked apart as our Line is vastly upgraded and we have threats everywhere. And we can wear his front 7 out in process.

I think the Hoodie is going to try and throw looks at Romo he has never seen. Try and confuse or at least disrupt Romo some. How does he do that?

He's going to throw 2 man fronts at him. 2-3-6 looks. But with Vrabel, Thomas and Colvin and a Safety he can morph it into a 6 man rush or next play drop 9 men into coverage. Look for a lot of gimmicks from BB.

Now Phillips is a sly codger, he see's that he will run MB3 down their throats to set up play action and later passing will kill Pats. Our Oline may be able to wear out their defense also.....

Great matchup!

Next up - how do we stop Brady and the Mossfest?

Ever heard of taking one game at a time? I believe Dallas can't look past Buffalo!

I am not counting on a breakout game from Fasano.

TO is going to break a slant or 2 to the house. Their safeties looked lax last game. They better account for TO.

AFTER we play the Bills, I think this is a game for Julius Jones to shine. Not as a rusher, but as a receiver out of the backfield. With his speed, he should be able to run away from their linebackers. A few draws up the middle could payoff too. Of all the Cowboys weapons, I think Jones could be the surprise weapon of choice. (and this coming from a guy thats ready to show Jones the door) As a matter of fact, I think combining Jones and Barber in the same backfield for a couple of plays could prove interesting.

T.O. really needs to earn his money in this game, IMO. You don't sign high-maintenance, high-dollar players like him to ring up stats in easy wins; you sign them to make a difference against the best teams.

One of the few advantages we should have against them is him against their corners. I hope he delivers.

Belicheck is well-known for preaching that a team should attack their season on a game-by-game basis. It kinda ironic that someone who follows Belicheck so closely is building up the Patriots/Cowboys matchup ahead of the Cowboys/Bills game.

'Hoodie' is pretty funny, though.

I agree, Hoodie will play a lot of 8 and 9 man drop zone coverage. Think he will also take some calculated shots at Romo blitzing. No QB likes getting hit.

Ware, Ellis and Spencer for Hire need to batter Brady if we are going to win.
