How would you attack Dallas offensively

With a hatchet. I really think - this year - it is almost impossible to limit the offense defensively. I guess the best shot would be to take away the run, but nobody has been able to do that of late. Even then, there are too many options for Romo to throw to. That would probably open up the run again and so on. Defensively? You tell me. Very tight. May give up some yards, but greedy with points. It's like a switch was flipped before that N.O. game.

Offense- Run the ball, using lots of misdirection. Keep the passes short and YAC-focused, to avoid the pass rush adn force the DBs to tackle. When going deep, attack the middle of the defense with TEs and RBs as well as 3 and 4 receiver sets.

Defense- Mix it up, use lots of zone blitzes combined with soft zones. Ideally, you want equal parts of 3 man, 4 man, 5, and 6 man rushes. Don't let Romo get past your edge rushers to the outside-- force him up in the pocket, but not sideways. Don't let Witten get any free releases, bracket him if you don't have a LB/Safety who can cover him solo (most don't). Let Austin have his way if need be, you need to shut down Witten first.

It's hard to take away the run when some of our best running plays are from passing formations. The draws really make it hard to just clog the line.

I'd just throw in the towel, no reason to even try to stop it.

:D

I was going to say food poisoning but that works too.

I honestly don't know. There isn't a glaring weakness on either side that you can take advantage of.

The only thing you can do is execute a gameplan against the Cowboys mixing up run and pass. Stack the box when Barber is in the game, and hope for the best.

defense--rush Romo with four studs and bracket the receives (wait, that's our defense)

offense--do what we do; beat the blitz with quick throws and wear them down with a power running game

You have to get pressure on Romo. That is key.

If he recognizes your blitz then hes got you. If you just sit in coverage hes got you.

For me the best thing I saw all year was the Broncos gameplan against us.

They had 3 DB's in like a pyramid and the 2 outside DB's would rotate from safety to Corner. Romo struggled with this, especially when they blitzed.

If our offensive line keeps playing good ball then there isn't much anyone can do.

Miles austin and Witten are the key to the cowboys success right now. Make someone else in the passing game beat you. Stop the run also.

I'd use a lot of shotgun to give Favre some extra time in the pocket and primarily hit underneath out routes and crossing patterns. Take what our defense will given them. Mix in the run enough to keep our defense guessing. Hope you build up a lead and then give the rock to ADP continuously.

Defensively I would put some pressure up the middle. Romo has a tendency to throw off his back foot instead of stepping up sometimes.

Offensively, I would give Dallas lots of runs early then revert to play action and screens later. Dallas has to respect A.P. but I don't think Favre will stick with that plan.

If I am Dallas I would attack Minnesota with the running game. Spread them out as they are hurting at MLB and at safety. The Dallas o-line should beat on Minnesota for 2 quarters and then start hitting them deeper with Austin and Williams.

and defensively?
Simple formula. Stop the run, win time of possession and put as much pressure on Romo as possible. The way to beat the Cowboys is to make Romo have a bad game. Teams that managed were denver and green bay.

Unfortunately for teams it isn't that easy and in fact, it's getting more difficult all the time. ;)

I would say mix up the coverages a lot, and disguise it as much as possible. Play Roy man up and play him close to the line. Play a lot of zone underneath with the linebackers to slam receivers/TE's any time the Boys go over the middle. A safety covering deep middle and deep towards Roy. Safety coverage over top of Miles with mixed coverage from his corner. Some zone blitzes that involve dropping a DE.

On offense, run between the tackles. Our defense is too fast for outside runs to be much help. Double Ratliff/chip and go 2nd level. Work the passing game as they have. Some precise throws mized in with big play potential.

Offense - A ton of play action, mostly 3-5 step drops or roll out type passes. You can not let the pressure get to you, thus the play action and short drops and get the ball out. throw in the middle a lot using TE.

Defense - This is tough because Romo is beating the blitz with Hot reads, and if you give him time he can eat you alive. I would think you need to take Witten and Miles out of the game and make him beat you with Crayton and Roy.

Offensively, I'd run AD right at us. I'd use my WRs on quick screens and I'd reverse. I would isolate Bradie and make him cover backs but above all, I'd stay balanced and be quick with the ball on every route. Eventually, I'd throw deep if I could have some success stopping the rush.

Defensively, I'd attack Felix and make him block on every passing down. I'd make Roy beat me. I'd take Witten and Miles out of the game and force Roy to beat me. I think the Vikings will have success against our running game so I wouldn't even worry about the delay action. I'd just play us for that all the time in the running game and make us throw to Roy.
