How would you cut down Murray's touches?

I know that we can put Randle in for a series or two, but it's really hard to take Murray out when the game is close.

Personally, I really liked seeing Dunbar out there for the 2min drill. He looked great. Could he be a 3rd down back too? Or is his blocking a liability compared to Murray's?

Also, how is Randle's ball handling? Can we trust him to carry it in the final drive to kill the clock? It can't be any worse than Murray's ball handling.

The only real way to really get his touches down is to have a nice lead in the fourth quarter where you can close it out with Randle and Dunbar.

Otherwise you can only try and take some snaps here and there like yesterday. Getting Randle some carries, Dunbar some carries and catches.

Were are probably talking 5 carries a game on average. I think between Dunbar and Randle, they should be able to get them the carries to get to 5 less a game for DM.

Give Randle a series or two. His run yesterday jumpstarted our run game, IMO.

Give Dunbar and Randle each another series or so in the first half, even if the game is close. Let Murray be the closer. He can still get 20 touches that way.

It's as easy as you mentioned. Put Randle in for a series or two.

I'm not calling him Shady McCoy, but he's got that same type of wiggle to him that Shady does. Once he makes his first cut, he knows how to make guys miss if he reaches the 2nd level. I think it was Kam Chancellor who he made completely whiff in the open field on his long run yesterday.

How can one justify taking carries away right now.

Anyway, as mentioned, getting a big lead, then spell him more later in the game. Even though the philosophy, is, get a lead, then continue to pound them with what has got you to that point.
But Randle shown he can step in on some series.

I did notice they took Murray out on some 3rd downs, after he ran on 1st & 2nd downs.

the easiest way to accomplish this is to punt every third possession...

Notice how effective Dunbar was when he was in the game with another RB?

I like Randle a lot, but it's tough to limit Murray too much right now. Hopefully this team can string together some more wins and reduce his workload over the final game or two.

I just remember the 1 crazy play with that formation where they ran around in the backfield and ended up with about a 2 yard gain out to the left sideline.

Bench him when he fumbles, that'll surely cut his carries in half.

I'm kidding, I'd ride Murray until the wheels fall off, every win right NOW is just as important as it is in DECEMBER. Win now, so week 16 and 17 we can rest him with the #1 or #2 seed wrapped up.

Why limit the man if he's pounding the rock and moving the offense let him keep going.

What others have said: Put Randle in for a series. Also, occasionally use Murray as a decoy. Teams are honing in on him so much that a little misdirection could be effective. Do that if we notice another team's D is over pursuing.

he is on pace to set an alltime record in carries. we have to limit him some or he won't last the season. as said, give randle a couple of series and use dunbar a few plays even if murray is in there with him.

We have a long way till we start talking playoffs... lets lock down a seed then limit murray in the tail end of the season to keep him fresh for the playoffs where we need to ride him if we want the grand prize...

Those talking about saving him for years to come need to remember anything can happen in the future years down the road(fluke injurys knocking on wood) so we need to play this season in the now and use the bullets we have

He looks just fine and keeps getting stronger as the game goes on. There's always a chance at injury. If we were to keep players out because of injury we should bench Romo for parts of a game because he could get hurt.

if he can't handle the load then just get a guy who can. I for one think he can handle it.

Cut out the unforced turnovers and allow your team to play with the lead more. Then they'll be able to do whatever they want.
