How would you cut down Murray's touches?

I would probably cut down his touches by giving Randle and Dunbar more touches. :)

In all seriousness I like how we mixed in the other guys early and closed with Murray.

RBs are cheaper commodities. You use them up and then you move on.

I have no problem with Murray touching the ball 25+ times a game.

we need tow rok it in because we dont know when Murray is goign to get injured, but hes most likely going to get injured or this is his magical season, either way we need to be ready, so RBs need to be rotated in to limit Murrays chances and wear and tear.

To be clear, i like that murray is getting the chances at this record, i love that murray proved a lo t of peopel wrong. but i dont want to run him to his death. A few touches for the other guys will help. Randle got good off his opps and even Dunbar did good. Better than Tanner who i had liked. So with Linehan shutting me up, im glad with whatever he is doing because he is making this offense better.

Murray is a back that can get 25+ carries or more a game. I wouldn't worry too much about it. In this day and age RB's can be easily replaced.

Give Dunbar and Randle each another series or so in the first half, even if the game is close. Let Murray be the closer. He can still get 20 touches that way.

totally agree. If we're gonna cut some of Demarco's carries, lets pick the right spots. Even with the fumbles, I want Murray banging on the defense in Q4.

Exactly the way we did yesterday.

Give Randle a series or two and some touches during Murray's series.

On 3rd and longs beyond 10 yards get Dunbar in there like we did and sling him the ball in the backfield.

But don't totally take Murray out on the 3rd and longs under 10 yards. His blocking and ability to catch out the backfield and lean for that 1st down are money also.

When he got hurt last year he only had 91 carries and was on pace for 243 carries.

In 2012 he had 75 and was on pace for 240.

When his rookie season ended against the Giants it was on his 164th carry and he was on pace for 202 carries.

The 6 games this year are his 13th, 8th, 7th, 3rd, 2nd, and 1st most attempts in a single game. Even a drastic cutback of his current workload does not insure that he stays healthy based on results of prior seasons. I think the bottom line is there is no knowing for sure what workload could cause him to be injured and while it would be smart to tone it down it's hard to take your most valuable player off the field when it matters, and there is no guarantee that holding him to just 15 carries a game is going to keep him healthy.

Again if workload causes injuries why not bench Tony Romo for series at a time. Particularly now that he has back issues that may never completely heal. Because it's a bad idea. Yes spelling a guy like Murray is a good idea. But he should be there to get all the key carries because he is your work horse. Just like Romo is the man. You don't bench these guys because they could get hurt. They could get hurt stepping out of the team bus coming back or something stupid like that. You can't measure when someone is going to get hurt. It could be on the first play of the game or it could be never again.

I don't think are going to do full series with Murray on the bench unless he is hurt or we have a huge lead. I liked the rotation they were doing this last game a lot.

He actually got more rest than he normal this last game it seemed. Crazy he still had 29 carries, 35 touches total (counting his 6 receptions). Randle and Dunbar both had 5 touches of the ball, which was probably the most time either one of them had seen the ball all year?
