1. Let Murray, Free and Parnell go (keep Dez).

2. Dedicate the early part of the draft to offense. RT in 1st round, RB like Duke Johnson in 2nd.

3. Resign all our LBers so we don't have to worry about that.

4. Dedicate the rest of our free agency money to improving the D-line and secondary.

My logic: We have enough very good players on offense that some rookies could come in and immediately have success. But our defense is so limited that we can't depend on rookies to immediately come in and make big contributions. So we address the defense via veteran free agents. We already have a lot of good LBers (only two under contract though). But we need to bring in some vets who will be immediate contributers, particularly on the D-line. And, of course, we can spend picks 3-7 on depth for the defense (but I wouldn't expect much from them this season).

Nah, I don't like that idea. The right tackle scenario makes me feel uneasy. Also, there are question marks at the LB position. Will Lee be healthy for a whole season? Will Carter be consistent. Who knows how much McClain will cost and if his head is even into football (considering his track record).

You wouldn't trust a highly rated 1st round rookie playing next to 4 stars? Free missed half the season and Parnell is no stud, and neither are in our long term plans.

No. This scenario makes me a bit uneasy. I would:

1. Let Murray and Bruce Carter walk.
2. Re-sign Dez, Free, and Rolando McClain.
3. Sign the following free agents: RB Mark Ingram, DE Brandon Graham, CB Buster Skrine, and DT C.J. Mosely.
4. Draft a DE and RB early in the draft.

Yes, I probably would, but I would not draft a RT in the first round unless he was the absolute best player available. Parnell was no stud, but he still did a solid job filling in for Free, IMO. I think we sign Free or Parnell. Preferably Free, if nothing else, because of his leadership on the OL.

Plus, Free is still in his prime, even though he soon turns 31. I'm no scout, but the Cowboys just got by with Parnell in there. He was horrible in the playoff win over the Lions. Free is the superior player.

Yes, I agree Free is better, but I think his leadership exceeded his blocking skills (which were solid). All said and done, you are right, Free is the better player.

Don't really like it
Losing Murray and Free/Parnell just creates a hole that needs to be filled
Use the early Draft and FA to upgrade the DL. The young guys can contribute. Look at Hitchens and DLaw.
I do like signing 2-3 of our own FA LBs
The rest of the Draft and UDFA is more for depth at CB, OT and RB

There's no way to know if there will even be a RT worthy of a first round pick at 27.

I was with you but we need to keep Carter. He will be huge beside McClain and Lee

Why are people counting on Lee? He has proven he can't stay healthy. He hasn't played 50% of the snaps he could have.

I think people count on him being a body that they hope we can get something out of but everyone knows at some point he will get hurt and get IR'ed again.

No, u can't lose both Free and Parnell, I would try to keep both if at all possible. Also hate losing Murray, why screw with a good thing? The offense has been a strength, keep it going..

Ur killing me Smalls...
