How would you rank our needs this offseason?

That's a pretty good strategy.

I know it has to be done, but I hate drafting pass rushers high. It's so hit or miss.

I haven't seen Mercilus play. Is he as good as his stats? Hobbout Upshaw?

He's not a pass rusher, but I can speak for Minnifield. I'd take him at #25 and laugh all the way home.

I love Minnifield, son of a former NFL pro bowler and is a great man cover CB, would fit great in Dallas.

As for Upshaw, not any better than Spencer. Upshaw is not a great pass rusher but is good vs the run. Not great in coverage, has stiff hips in space.

As for Mercilus, yes he is that good. A few problems though is that he's a Junior, only he with great stats, and plays 4-3 DE. Never has to drop in coverage so much like Curry will need to see him in drills to see how he can flips hips and if he is stiff. Mercilus isn't real quick off the snap but uses great moves and power to get into the backfield. he is great vs the run too and a very Physical player, but again, much like Curry I will need to see him in drills to see how he plays standing up and how stiff his hips are.

I understand the desire to have all those resources added to the offensive line, but I don't see that happening. Not with two young guards waiting in the wings.

I could see one, and under the right conditions two guys added to the interior of the offensive line... And don't forget a swing tackle could also be needed. But that's a lot to ask out of one draft and a still kinda tight salary cap situation.

I don't think you can ignore the defense being that it's performing at a lower level than the offense.

tight cap? we will have 20 mill to spend and I don't know what two young OGs are waiting in the Wings. Arkin maybe but Nagy hasn't showed me anything this year. I say if you can fix the OL for 5 years just by signing a great OG and drafting a day one OG and C then do it, why not. If Arkin and Nagy turn into starters then cut Nicks after a few years after his guarantees are done. Now I don't see us getting Nicks, I think NO will resign him.

As for defense I said sign Campbell who is a great 3-4 DE and a true NT and move Ratliff to DE. That DL would get a true pass rush just from those 3. Add Spencer and Ware, watch out.

Upshaw has no passrush skills, I know I read a poster here. :)
