Obviously I saw the sack, and they were moving him around a bit, but overall I didn't focus on him and not sure how well he performed in a more traditional mlb role.

Insight?

He was average at best in coverage, good at read and react against the run, missed a tackle in deep tampa 2 coverage which led to a big play.

He should be a full time OLB, pass rusher, he is elite at that... there were 3 plays where he rushed up the gut and got held (no call) but led to sacks from Odighizuwa, Golston and Basham... but Parsons definitely doesn't have the elite core MLB skillset... at least not yet. His big flaw right now is coverage. Play Cox more, IMO. Less Smith/LVE.

Average at best? His mere presence in the A gap and the pressure from RG94 caused the first Diggs interception, he had a sack, and almost got another one. His jersey looked like it was ran over by a row of 18 wheelers. The kid balled out and is insane.

You can’t make this **** up bro. They come out nowhere with it with absolutely nothing to back it up outside of their lack of knowledge

You're already getting flack but you aren't wrong. His coverage is pretty much what you'd expect from a rookie with minimal experience in coverage. Parsons is a pressure player and more effective the closer he is to the LOS. He's a bit away from being a seam stalking Tampa 2 MLB. IIRC he also should have been in on the 3rd and 12 conversion.

Do you even know what "coverage" means? Seriously...

Personally I would not ask him to drop into coverage at all. Playing him in the middle as a run defender and rushing the passer is where he needs to be.

He needs to play coverage sometimes. The benefit of Parsons is that you should be able to move him around and allow him to pressure, but you should also be deploying him in unique ways. You just have to call them the right way.

I believe this team needs to start considering exotic looks into their blitz package. Bring back some fire-zone blitz and other unique punches every couple of games.

.....he's an impact player. Not always perfect, but seems to be a step or play away from big play. Magnet for chaos.

Imo he’s best at lb’er where he can shoot through multiple gaps. This will put the most pressure on opposing teams. When he rushes he gets amazing push and penetration. Very nice to see for a change. At DE he’s going against guys that are at least 50lbs larger, over time he will get beat up more there.

I should add that I am ecstatic that we got him vs the two top corners. Sometimes things just work out for the best.

He’s a linebacker bro, there’s no such thing as a lockdown coverage linebacker - he’s as good as any LB in the league in coverage SERIOUSLY. If you’re nit picking Micah for his coverage you’re a special kind of weird.

He is playing great for a rookie. Just wait until he gets more experience and learns more about the NFL offenses

He does need to work on his coverage skills but that also comes with time and experience.
I would be ok if he was never in coverage.
