How'd Micah do yesterday?

He needs to rush and rush a lot. Anytime he’s not rushing it’s a win for the Offense unless we do some kind of Zone blitz that causes confusion.

If they come out in a multiple TE set or have a fullback then I’m all for letting him play linebacker.

Any 3 or 4 WR sets I want him up on the LOS somewhere rushing the passer.

That’s what makes him special and what has changed our defense.

I'm all for him rushing, as a LB, all around the LoS, and also from the traditional LB spot. He ALSO, needs to be in coverage at times. He's not Deion in coverage as a LB, big deal. He's still better than Jaylon and LVE.

Moving him to the edge full-time would be painfully stupid

What makes him TRULY special is being able to move him around and keep the offense guessing because he can rush or blitz from anywhere on the field. That is a once in 3 lifetimes ability. Move him to the edge full-time and piss away that advantage.

Nobody on this defense is playing full time anything.

Ive seen just about everyone line up all over the place.

Ive seen Osa Odgigizuwha out wide at defensive end.

Ive seen Parsons and Gregory inside.

Golston all over the place.

Im all for moving Parsons around and everything but as a linebacker he’s nothing special at all right now and I would say he even is a weakness at times.

When he’s up on the LOS whether it be over the center or out wide he is a phenom.

Dallas is in Nickel or done most of the time anyways so for the majority of that I want him in a position to go get the QB. If he’s in coverage it’s a W for the offense.

Catch17.

You had some pretty nasty things to say about Parsons’ character at draft time.

Have you changed your tune on him in that aspect?

Umm.. From what I’ve seen from him, from the little we do get to see, he seems fine to me and I like him.

But the stuff he was accused of at Penn is pretty disgusting and I’d like to just forget about it really sense he’s on my team now lol.

Him in coverage is better than Jaylon/LVE in coverage.

Point is he's a threat wherever you use him. If you rush him 100% of the time there's no guesswork for the offense.

And it's been 4 games... A bit early to condemn his coverage ability for his career.

Even LT had a pick 6.

Rushing him full-time also shortens his career.

I don’t think he’s there in coverage yet at all. Not even on Jaylons level.

His awareness at LB looks bad to me.

Here.. Have a look for yourself.. Fast forward to when the Panthers are on Offense and watch him when he is off the ball playing a traditional linebacker role.

And before anyone whines I’m not saying he can’t ever get better at linebacker.

Right now I just don’t think he’s very good at Linebacker.

Video unavailable.

And yes, he's better than Jaylon/LVE in coverage, c'mon...

Hicks is one of the best coverage LBs in the NFL for a long time now. Philly messed up by letting him walk. Arizona's D (and O) are championship contending this year, very scary squad.

Hicks doesn't hold a candle to Parsons in pass rushing and run defense... Parsons doesn't hold a candle to Hicks in coverage. How many PBUs and INTs does Parsons have (discounting tips at the line of scrimmage). Simply put, Parsons looks very green when he's not playing from close to the LOS.

Jabril Cox has been comp'ed to Jordan Hicks for a very good reason. Decent in run defense, but isn't going to be some thumper or pass rusher like Parsons. Main advantage is Cox's ability to lock down TEs and scatbacks and lock down intermediate zones and be one of the best ball hawks in the league at his position. Jordan Hicks.

I think the problem you’re going to run into is people see Parsons making plays so they assume he’s just awesome everywhere.

He’s an absolute phenom when rushing the QB. When playing LB he’s very green like you stated.

I guess you have to click on it and it will take you to YouTube.

Its just the game yesterday condensed into 17 minutes or whatever.

Cool I'll check it out. I just got a puppy that won't leave my side so it's not like I can do anything else anyway...

Obviously I saw the sack, and they were moving him around a bit, but overall I didn't focus on him and not sure how well he performed in a more traditional mlb role.

Insight?

He was a disruption. Everywhere they lined him up Carolina had to make sure he was blocked. There were several times that they had to double block him. He causes confusion which allowed others to get sacks.

If they just allow him to rush the passer while having someone else play pass defense like Jabril Cox, this defense will be something special.

People aren’t paying as close attention as you are. I wouldn’t worry about it.

You point out a good players obvious CURRENT weakness and people on here who have no clue will think you’re a moron.

I think you’re being kind with how he positions himself against the run when at LB. I don’t think he’s reading his keys all that well and just takes himself out of the play against the run.

Anything on the LOS and he’s phenomenal.

This from the guy that said Parsons was a bad pick and that "Parsons is nothing special" all while the entire NFL is talking about what a total stud he is and comparing him to LT.

Parsons was all over the field, dropping on coverage, making tackles in the hole, blitzing from EVERYWHERE.

MLB is 100% EXACTLY where you want this guy smack dab in the middle of your defense.

Yep, watch the game. Parsons is either right in the middle or up at the line in the middle or on the edge. He handles coverage on the RB and TE's coming out well. You are going to come away watching the game asking what these other guys are talking about.

I just rewatched the game.
