Howie Roseman vs Jethro and uncle Jed

Philly also has ownership that is committed to winning instead of their egos. Philly sold part of the team this year to create massive cash flow to fund their payroll. You think Jerry would ever do that?

One of my least favorite episodes.

Children have been born and later graduated college since Jones can even try arguing he was the better general manager over anyone with the same title in Philadelphia.
How does that man in Dallas keep his job? I guess he avoids mirrors and a deep soul search of his incompetence. Yea, he owns the team but does that give him the right to tear out the very essence of fans that were fans long before he bought his way into the NFL? And a whole bunch of younger fans have never shared in any glorious SB runs. All they know is hanging around the rim or losing. Maybe Shotty changes that? I don't know but it seems rudderless at this point in time. Roseman at least is shooting for the moon as a GM but isn't that what Jerry is also supposed to be doing? I know a lot of questions here and probably very little answers.

I got 10 bucks saying they grab Miles Garrett this off season and trade out of the first picking up the Giants 2026 first.

Thing is you can keep reworking contracts and clearing cap space and pushing the cap
Hell down the road like Philly has all the whole competing for and in Super Bowls. Booger and Jethro are clueless.
Its not 'restructuring cap' that gives the Eagles the edge, its that Roseman is willing to trade/cut any player on the team to improve the roster. That means taking the harsh decision on players that even got to a SB.

(FROM ANOTHER THREAD).....Take Hurts v Dak, take away the playing ability, just look at the contracts and organizational strategy surrounding the two. Stephen / Jerry are saying, the Eagles are facing their own CAP Hell.......ERRR NO, because Roseman will quite willingly Trade or Cut Hurts by 2027 (that or he's got the option of extending him.....but the usual Eagles MO is to build and extend those lines, get foundations built so i'd guess Hurts will go). Quite willing to take a reset hit, but that takes planning and not being obsessed with the commercial identity of players.
Roseman's always looking at football decisions first....interestingly Jerry/Stephen has the opportunity, if we have another failed season in 2025, to move on from Dak (pre-June 2026, or 2027), but will they?

jethro and uncle jed lolol
I love this website
I think they were smarter than Jerry and Stephen. Even they could probably get us to a championship game in 30 years. I'm sure Jed would eventually hire a gm. Lol

During wartime when one side has poor leadership and the casualties and losses mount up the troops start to feel a loss of hope and give up. It is not war but the analogy applies to NFL football. The Cowboy fan base is feeling a loss of any chance of winning as long as Jones and son are the leaders. Many/most are feeling hopeless and their ranks are growing. The national sports media and knowledgeable football people are in agreement. Even the local media is finally showing signs of getting it.

There are 1,000 million dollars in a billion dollars.

I'm not going to lie, I don't understand the salary cap and what variables play into deciding what you pay a player and when you cut a player. Did come across this below. Don't know how accurate it is, but given the Cowboys are worth about 10 billion dollars and Jerry's net worth is 17 billion dollars, something just isn't adding up with the cowboys trying to use common sense...

Quite the matchup of GM's! Howie's team building is 3-dimensional chess and Jerry and Stephen are chasing butterflies with a hockey stick.

With competent leadership in Washington it will be a 2'horse race for a very long time.
We are at such a competitive disadvantage with our amateur front office.
It's amazing we have hung around the rim for as long as we have.
I think we are getting ready to get really exposed.

Bingo!
My level of enthusiasm for the Cowboys has never been lower in my 50 years of following this team.

Wow, we are so screwed.

100%. The really troubling thing we are finding out is Stephen is a bigger detriment to winning than his old man. Hopefully he sells when Jerry's gone.
