I just rewatched the Indy game. He hits the defenders so hard that they really get mad at him. The guy just blows people up. He will really help our running game.
So one game all of a sudden makes him the best blocking fullback in the nfl. Seriously, you probably dont even know any other fullbacks in the nfl except for Hoyte right?

He is new at this, and blowing folks up left and right - Imagine how he'll be in a couple of years playing that position.

Hopefully he learns to play the position better and doesn't become another Robert Thomas.

Lorenzo Neal without a doubt IMO.
Compared to Robert Smith, Jamar Martin, and Lousaka Polite he's the best we have at lead blocking since Darryl "Moose" Johnston.

Neal, and Richardson are good lead blockers but Mac Strong, of the Seahawks should be considered also amongst the best lead blockers at FB, in the NFL also.

Hoyte, got my attention in the Panthers game where he blew up quite a few of their defenders for JJ and MB3 he keeps up this level of intensity from now on out then he will be up in that echelon of lead blocking FBs in the league.

It is impressive that an equally homeristic and yet utterly tiresome thread can be started twice.

:laugh2:

That was good.

Hoyte's only issue is his hand technique. He basically just blasts into defenders.

However, his ability to blow up defenders is quite unique. He's excellent at finding the right defender to attack and when he gets in those situations where he has to try and block 2 guys, he often times has a "fighting chance" given his size and brutish blocking style.

Lorenzo Neal's hand and punching technique is about as good as it gets for an NFL Fullback. But when it comes to completely destroying a defender, I think Hoyte is better at this point. He was really whalloping Colts defenders.

YAKUZA
He definitely takes on defenders with a LB mentality. That being said, he prolly also catches like one.
