This guy had some really nice blocks today in the running game. Sealed the backers off on some of Jones runs.

even though some people don't like his drafting practices, everyone must agree that he does well w/ 7th round picks and UFAs

LB/FB...whatever helps the team.

I would think that LB's and their disposition for contact would make great fullbacks.

Hoyte also forced the fumble on the kickoff that we kicked around a bit and didn't come up with.

Nice game Ollie!

And did you notice that it was Hurd who almost recovered that 2nd Panther fumble. I can remember when Parcells say that keeping Hurd would depend on Hurd's ST play. Hurd who I don't believe had played much if any ST in college certainly went from essentially nothing as a ST player to one of our star ST. He's earning his money while gaining time to develop his receiving skills (under tutaledge of TO).

Amazing what a FB can do for our running game. Lead blocking TE's just aren't as effective. They're too tall to maintain the blocks. FB's are squatter and lower to the ground ... great for maintaining a lead block and pushing a defender out of the way.

I'm a fan of the FB position.

I thought Hurd forced and did recover that 2nd fumble.

And Romo said he was his favorite passing target! Of course he was joking as the media was trying to bait him. :starspin

Hurd was around the ball on the second fumble but it looked like Roy Williams was the one who yanked it out.

Yeah, it looked like a combo of Roy and possibly Fowler on the strip, and a great recovery by Hurd.

Hurd forced and recovered that fumble he yanked it out while he was being tackled by others.
