Hoyte's Hit

His Cowboy team shot is even more harsh, I think the bright red color might help to neutralize some of his features but a white jersey begs the doctor to put him back in the womb.

Fasano looks trashed on the Cowboy site photo as well, whitewashed by unfavorable office lighting.

This is a completely separate issue, but I swear the Fasano is one of the ugliest guys on our team.

I thought McQuistan had that title....:laugh1:

In reading the NYT blurb that was posted here earlier, it said that Parcells chastised Romo after the second INT because he had the fullback open and he "didn't even look for him."

I went back and re-watched just now, and it's true.

But what had me laughing was, after the INT, Hoyte was the guy who tracked down Will Demps and absolutely lit him up with the tackle. I mean it was "jacked up" quality! Demps actually fumbled the ball but recovered it himself.

So I guess that's one added bonus of having a former Linebacker on offense... he's fully able to make tackles after turnovers!

Sure... Hoyte must have been po'd... that was potentially his ball... he just went to try and reclaim it LOL

Seeing this photo. Hoyte and Fasano will have to vie for 2nd best. Jokes aside, I'm glad we have some "big uglies" on this team who are willing to do the team's dirty work. No Prima Donna attitudes with these guys.

You know... I expect nothing but greatness from this team... always have...regardless who was on the team... I am just a fan.... always and no matter what.... I expect to win every year... but this year is special we REALLY do have a chance to win it all.... BUT if we dont... Romo has made ALOT of things better...

We could REALISTICALLY say "wait until next year" and it wouldnt be an empty words

Man... I saw alot of Tyson in his heyday... when he spoke... you STOPPED to listen... no, not because you wanted to hear what he had to say... you stopped because you wanted to understand what the heck was coming out of his mouth.... stooooopendus

Demps was going to pitch the ball to the other Giants player there when Hoyte nailed him. That player was VERY lucky the ball didn't go flying down the field. Look at it in slow motion/frames and you'll see he was about to pitch the ball when he was hit.

You are right on.

If you watch the game and know where that happened, I have it recorded, Parcells put his arm around Romo's waist and let him know that he missed the fullback. Under Parcells standards, it was by no means a "chastise".

Just to set the record straight here.

No offense meant to you DW. You can only read what they write.

I saw it as well. He wasn't "ripping him a new one" but he was "admonishing" him. I stand by "chastise" although it was gentle chastisement. :p:

The one time Parcells was really mad at him was when he almost took the sack at the end of the first half.

in a prev. thread........wonderment about why a bunch in Gints players "jumped" Hoyte on the play..........

If in fact a fumble actually occured..........would explain the pile-up in recovery attempt, vrs. revenge on Hoyte

There was no fumble. Demps had the ball & was walking away while his "thug" teammates were mugging Hoyte. I'm surprised more Cowboys didn't have Hoyte's back. Sam Madison was standing there kneeing Hoyte while another Giant was on top of him. Is that how you recover a fumble?

As far as Hoyte's looks, I think he has a great look for a LB or FB! He looks like one mean mo fo. I love the way he plays. We haven't seen that kind of FB blocking since the Moose. Hoyte blows up whoever his assignment is, then eyes up his next victim. There have been many times where he's still tearing into an opponent a second or two after the whistle.

Converting Hoyte, inserting Romo, and exchanging Vanderjagt for Gramatica are the three best moves of the mid-season by BP.

Sounds good to me. I really wasn't trying to correct you DW. Just thinking you read something overly embellished.........if you could ever imagine such a thing happening. ;)

I met Mike Tyson is his prime. It was before his loss to Buster and I was a fan. I was a senior in high school and made the tri-state (All-met team) in wrestling...and he was there to give out the awards for it. I was beside my self and got great pictures of the event, me shaking his hand...ect....only to have him several years later jump right off the deep end of life. the framed pictures came right off the wall and are somewhere in storage just collecting dust.......oh well...:laugh1:

Did the clip work for anyone?

let me know if the link isnt working, I will put it up in another spot

I love Hoyte, a LB not cutting the mustard get a try out at a new position and doing well, blowing people up at the same time. Sure he will miss some assignments & make mistakes, but he has been a fantastic success story, in a season of surprises that have been working in the Cowboys favor for the last month and a half. I don't know if he will be playing with them in the future or even with a year under his belt he will be over coached and lose the edge he has now in being raw. But right now I believe he brings a really good aspect to a lacking Cowboys running game and could quite possibly be a feature FB in the league. But being a pessimist / realist, I believe he will overshoot expectations this season and flirt between the team and practice squad next season then get cut. Still, it's good to root for the underdog.
