guys, here is the info
For what it is worth, James Marten is 6-7, 303; Doug Free is 6-6, 306 and McQuistan is 6-6, 311. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if Hudson Houck will encourage at least these 3 OL to bulk up at least another 15 pounts during the March weight conditioning program. That will Free & Marten can add strength and power to their game; same goes for McQuistan. Maybe Kosier could get stronger at the POA if he adds maybe 10 more pounds to his frame.
This is true or close to weight of McQuistan, Doug Free and James Marten,
Now Kosier is another matter, the other guys can put on weight, but Kosier has been here 4 years now to best of my memory and he has never put on weight or increased his strenght, remember now, parcells had his players working out hard first 2 years,
I think the Cowboys will put McQuistan as LOG, they wanted to put him there in training camp but remember that Flozell and Columbo were hurt, so they coudnt, if Mcqustan can play LOG Houck is the guy to know or not, what i see the cowboys doing is drafting another young og or ot in the 3rd to 5th round, the top 3 spots our 2 # 1's and our 2nd is reserved for RB, CB and WR, that is the strenght of the draft.
now on to james marten, he had a terrible training camp, reason being he lost weight and got down to about 280, you cant play at that weight in the pros, and not surely be at that weight for Houck, so either marten gets on the ball or he is outa here or traded if we can, i am really disappointed in both of those guys anyway, not so much doug free, he showed some stuff in preseason, but marten didnt stop at all to sign autographs, and so did doug free, maybe that will change with Houck but to me, if your a dallas cowboy player u stop to sign autographs,
but we do need a young backup center and guard, hopefully houck with the help of our drafting scouts can find a big nasty guard or OT for Houck to build on, just im not awhole lot impressed with James Marten,
we might even be able to trade Kosier for something if McQuistan can play LOG, but time will tell, and yes, Houck loves big offensive linemen with big butts, adn to me, thats what we need on our offensive line, a nasty attitude to open holes and get some bread and butter running plays, to me, that was lacking, and if you saw it in the playoff game, Barber had to make alot of the holes on his own,
