Just curious when he is going to be called out? Yes the receivers ran bad routes, etc. and the offense looked unorganized, but the protection and offensive line flat out played bad.

I think they were the majority of the problem with the offense. Are you telling me that one year removed from being pretty darn good with Sparano, they flat out can't play now? I also find it amusing how much we missed Kosier, who everybody wanted to run out of town.

When Romo spoke about protection he spoke about the Oline....Garrett is the goat, but where's the love for Hudson?

i wasn't happy with the OL by any means but sparano never had to deal with procter as a starter. i'm willing to give HH another year to show he still has it. if he doesn't we won't go far and the whole coaching staff can leave.

I could take that excuse if Columbo, Gurode, or Flo was out......but not a guard, or our guard I should say. It's not like Larry Allen got hurt.

a crappy guard who gets owned every single play can easily detract from the play of an OT or C who constantly have to help the weak link. OLs are only as good as their worst member.

I've said many times that he flatly sucked this year.

He's been a great OL coach in his career, but maybe he's just too old now. I hope not, but it could be.

Yeah, but we were blowing pickups on simple stunts, even late in the season. Delayed blitzes killed a couple of drives in the Ravens game. The blown blitz pickup on ST in the AZ game (it was a RB, but still, it was a blown pickup) cost us McBriar. Three plays earlier we'd injured Romo and eventually lost him for 4 weeks. It wasn't just the backup guard in place. Even if it were, this was a unit Houck had evaluated. We should have had depth ready on the bench. (Maybe this is unfair as we did identify and trade for the fat guy from Denver who's name escapes me).

Excuses and excuses. While I agree we had enough injuries to affect the outcome of the season, we still don't do anything but make excuses.

He deserves quite a bit of blame but it is alot sexier to blame a whiney Receiver, a genius Offensive Coordinator and a flashy Owner.

Saying the O-line sucks is an excuse?

It is not who got hurt, but who was put in the game as the replacement. Proctor was just not that good.

Also Flozell was not 100% during the middle of the season. A left tackle needs to be able to use his left arm to push guys away from the QB. Flozell could not do that for several games. What really hurt the o-line is they had/have no viable back ups. Flozell should have sat for two games until he healed, but Dallas can't count on anyone to step in and play.

HH wasn't good this year. i only said i was willing to give him another year based on injuries this year and having to play procter. HH didn't join the team until almost feb. that gave him very little time with the current set of OL. he would have had film of the starters but only practice film of the backups? my guess is when he saw how crappy the backups were he went after holland. and holland was decent when he got in there. anyway no excuses, the line played poorly but i'd like to see 1 more year hopefully healthy before i make final judgement on HH.

Holland. Thanks. Honestly, I was confused by our line play this year. We looked like we got worse as the year went on, instead of better. Gurode looked confused at times. Flozell was clearly in pain for a time and that's part of why he got beat so often. The backup linemen didn't help. It sure seemed that we had more players confused by blitzes than I can remember seeing in a long time. There were way too many free shots at our QBs. Procter was overmatched. Holland helped, but then when he went out, it took forever for McQuistan to get a chance, and then he held his own against Philly. With that big a problem at LG, what took so long to try McQuistan out? I don't think he was ever rotated in for a series and I just didn't notice it, was he?

And has anything come to light on what adjustment Jim Johnson made in the Philly game that exposed our protection? (Or was it Baltimore?). I know it's been reported, but I didn't notice anything and I haven't heard what it is. Whatever it was, it's another symptom of our coaches not making in-game adjustments quickly.

I'm not one to pile on Wade or Garrett unnecessarily, but our offensive adjustments were the biggest problem I had with this coaching staff. We were slow to adjust and some of the adjustments we made were just bad. Fortunately, that's something that I would expect for an inexperienced coordinator, and one of the reasons I think we needed to support Garrett rather than replace him. I don't have an answer for why our experienced OL coach had the same issues, and I don't understand why nobody in the press or the organization is even looking into whether or not that position coach could be upgraded.

Seems to be the entire team is being called out for their failure. I would include Houck part of that as well. Having said that I'm not looking to fire him but he deserves the heat like everyone else is getting.

No doubt Players hold a big portion of the blame, the team failed that includes Jerry, Wade, his staff and the players. There may be a lot less finger pointing if people can accept that fact.

Yeah. I don't mean to blame only Houck. Like I said, Procter was overmatched, and Gurode looked pretty confused at times. Flozell had a rough year (in his case, I do think it was injuries). We haven't heard a peep from Dough Free who everyone was so high on last season and who should have gotten stronger after a full year in the training program. The players weren't particularly good, either, and that's with a QB who can usually make one man miss.
