Huge game

I hope we win and I apologize if it seems like I am being overly negative or rude.

I want to destroy the Eagles. As far as the entire season is concerned, I am tired of getting my hopes up and analyzing things to death only to get let down, year after year.

Maybe I am the one that needs to stop getting my hopes up, lol.

Regardless of what anyone thinks, every game for this team is huge.

Aside from being the Dallas Cowboys, a team that everyone likes to beat and wants to put on their best performance against, Dallas just hasn't shown the consistency to say that any given game isn't a big game.

Think of the win to open the season. Without that this team would officially be dead in the water. It's practically at that point right now but without that win, Dallas would be 2-6 and the Giants would be 7-2.

The Eagles are terrible right now. But they're a temperamental team with lots of emotion (at least they used to be).

If we make some early mistakes and give up momentum, the game will spiral out of control

I doubt either team wins big.

It's gonna be a complete slop-fest.

We're talking teams that are tied for #2 in the NFL for turning the ball over.

Thrown on top of that we're talking the #3 most penalized team (Dallas) going against the #7 most penalized team (Philly)

This game could be an all time stinker in terms of quality football play. Both teams giving it away 2-3 times and both teams racking up a number of penalties.

Huge, huh?

The Giants game was huge. Same for the Falcons.
This one.....more like a day late and a dollar short....

The Eagles have talent, same as Dallas. The key is which team plays mistake-free football and makes the key plays at key points in the game. For example, if it's a third down -- offensively or defensively -- someone has to make the catch to move the chains or someone has to make the tackle to stop a drive.

Also, Philly is hurting on the o-line. The Dallas front seven must control the LOS and get to Vick. Ware has to be more of a factor then he has been in a long time. The guy he is going up against was not even good enough to make the team in August!

Thanks for giving us the heads-up. Nothing worse than hoping your team can win a winnable game in the middle of the NFL season!

Win, lose.....the Cowboys aren't contending this year. That's just an honest evaluation of the team. They are not capable of making a run because they lack talent.

Agreed.

They have talent to compete but they lack overall talent to excel. There are too many positions across this team where JAGS are holding down the fort. There is a great divide between excellent players and subpar players.

Having said that, I am still cheering for them every week.

Imo Sunday's game could have important implications for the Cowboys beyond this year, in terms of player personnel and possibly in other areas. As for this year, I don't see any reason to throw in the towel until we are mathematically eliminated from playoff contention...

Of course. I watch every game hoping I'm wrong.

I've read a lot of people saying the Cowboys are good enough to beat any team but can lose to anyone too. I think that's fan spin trying to say the talent is there. We can beat any team in the sense that anyone can beat anyone on any given Sunday, but we are not talented enough to consistently beat a good team. They're not even talented enough to consistently play well over a stretch of games, like you'd need to do to get into the playoffs after starting off 3-5.

Like you said, too many JAGs. You can excuse each one individually for being good enough to fill a role on the team, but when you have so many of those guys on the field together you have a real problem. Nobody can make a play.

That's like saying there was no reason for me to count out the Cleveland Browns at the start of the season. Have to wait until the math eliminates them.

No. The Browns aren't good. I don't need to wait. It's the same with the Cowboys.

Folks were saying that about the Colts when the season started...

If we were healthy (Murray, Lee, Ratliff, etc.), I think we would win this game. Unfortunately, we're not and I doubt we will be able to muster any kind of run game. To me, that means we will probably lose. Then again, the Eagles have been trash as well. It's simply two teams with lots of talent that don't know how to use it and are prone to self destruct.

Because the Colts were starting a rookie QB. I think most people still don't believe they'll contend this year but at least they've shown signs of it the first half of the season.

The Cowboys looked bad in August and they still look bad in November. They are what they are.

If we can pressure Vick we'll win the game. We need some turnovers this week.

Meh. The Giants game was huge. Falcons game was huge. This week, not so much. We are already behind the 8ball considerably. Even with a win, we'd need tons of help to even sniff the playoffs.

First week in a long time I am indifferent leading up to the game. Just can't get myself pumped for this group anymore.

I would like to see a 5th straight loss for the Eagles and all that will bring.

EVERY game IMO is a huge game. No matter what.

It's known ANY game against the Egals is HUGE. Just because they suck this season doesn't make this game any bigger than any other game agains the Egals.

Kind of like

Hot Fire?
Cold Ice?
Wood Tree?

It's just known.

I'm not counted them out yet and still hold out hope for a bit of a turn around this season. That's why I view Sunday's game as critical,

We just don't agree on this topic. I'll agree that they're unlikely to contend, but that unlikelihood is part of what makes the games enjoyable for me.

And we're not like the Browns. We're losing games because we're turning the ball over, not because we lack talent. There's at least hope the turnovers can be addressed. If they are, the team can compete in the NFC. You only need to have watched the last three losses to have a sense how close we are to actual contenders. The gap isn't that significant, and it's a gap that it's possible to close within the season.
