Well it's obvious from the video that they're still going to wrestling at BFG. They've went out of their way to show this with the Sting stuff.

When I opened this thing my first thought was TNA told Hogan they were going with Sting to go over and Hogan pulled out, as he's known to do, cause he wasn't going to get to go over.

Now maybe this is a set up to take Hogan out of the match and if that winds up happening I'd be willing to bet money it's because Hogan is refusing to do the job.

That's been his MO for about 97% of his career since he became really over. Hogan rarely ever puts people over and even a smaller percentage of the time is he willing to put people over cleanly.

Very possible.. Or maybe TNA decided that they don't want a guy with 9 back surgeries wrestling.

R2A...you know I like Taker better than I do Shawn....their styles are completely different & I just prefer Mark. As far as Taker/Hogan there is no debate. I would never deny Hogan has charisma out the wazoo...but TO ME he's not a good wrestler.

Won't argue with any of that. Taker is much better than Hogan

Maybe but I give that about a 1% chance of being the likely reason.

It's much more likely, with a lot more historical examples on my side, that either this is completely part of the angle where Hogan is using this to get out of the match with Sting, until Sting does something to force him back into the match, or it's being used as an IC way to write him out of the match after he pulled a typical, well known, Hogan move and refused to do the job to Sting and simply isn't going to do the match if he can't go over.

I'd actually be completely shocked if this match does wind up taking place if anything other than Hogan winning happens.

In fact that brings up another reason for going this route. Could be that Hogan is doing his usual deal and requiring that he goes over and to make it 'make sense' to wrestling people and the fans Hogan is doing this as a "he's too old and can't do it anymore but by God the fans want him to give it on more shot" kind of things.

Sort of like the storyline was in ECW, back in the day, when Terry Funk won the ECW Heavyweight Championship with the whole he's old, broken down, and doesn't have it anymore.

The difference is that Terry Funk put everyone and their sister over in ECW, prior to that, and deserved that type of win, and Hogan isn't like that. He's never been about anyone other than himself and couldn't care less about putting others over for the better of the business.

And that's coming from a lifelong Hogan fan. As a kid he was my absolute favorite wrestler. When I got older, and realised how he was behind the scenes, I still like him and the character but i realised he had to slide way down my list of all time favorites and he's slipped way down the list now.

Couldn't agree more. Taker is 110% better than Hogan in every possible way when it comes to their careers. There is absolutely no area in which I feel like Hogan is superior to Taker.

Smart to make it that type of match because it will allow them to take the pressure off of Hogan having to try and put on a decent wrestling match, which he can't do anymore.

He hardly ever could to begin with but he certainly can't at this point.

Turning it into more of a fight is a much better option and a smart move by TNA management.

Interesting. The start of this thread claimed his contract, along with Eric's, was up in a few months. Now Hogan had to have a new deal cause his deal was up come Monday?

This smacks of pure, typical, Hogan and likely they had to come up with either more money for him to do the match or something else in order for him to agree to go with the outcome they wanted.

I speculated it was up in a few months, as originally Hogan and Bischoff signed a 1 year deal. They signed an extension around this time last year, so I assumed it was another year. They started on Jan 4, 2010. But they announced the signing in early Nov? So, they may have been signed Oct whatever and that was a year extension to bring it to that date this year.

But, your right something doesn't add up and it usually doesn't when H2 is involved.

"As we broke this morning in the PWInsider Elite section, TNA and Hulk Hogan agreed to terms on a new deal. Hogan's previous deal was set to expire this Monday, which would have placed both sides in quite an interesting position for next week's Bound for Glory PPV."

You do realize that their match was never in doubt don't you? I'm not even watching & it is crystal clear just from reading....all I have to say is that if the Joker stuff wasn't enough to make Sting retire then hopefully he will after jobbing out to Hogan.

Yeah my post wasn't to bag on you for the length of the deal. I had no idea if you had read that or had speculated but it was a large enough gap that it seemed odd, being that you're a big fan of their promotion, that you could have been that far off on the length of his deal.

Hogan has said he wasn't medically cleared to wrestle. But you don't need clearance to fight.
