The past as it pertains to overall success: The Cowboys, much younger as a franchise has a more glowing history and a Giants fan should avoid trying to highlight the past. It doesn't reflect well on their boring team.

The past as relevance to now and Sunday: In that context it's meaningless. If it had meaning, would there be a statue of limitations and where would that be? Two years ago, the Giants did a very good thing. Two years before that, the Giants didn't. Two years after? We'll see.

You're failing on both points.

2 years ago will never have an effect on what will happen this Sunday. Romo's history is no worse than either Manning in terms of how they got to where they are now as ring holders.

The only one who looks better is Ben Roethlisbeger who did it very early and twice no less. But you're not a Steelers fan, so this can't help you.

You do realize that your reciting of the Giants' past does not equal that of the Cowboys' past? If you're willing to admit that you're only attempting to engage in smack talk, that's fine, but weak. Posters responding to your weaker stance concerning the past with a stronger stance have every right to. However, if you're willing to talk about the strengths and weakness of our respect teams this season, you should do so with the expectation that those replying to your comments should respond in kind. So the question is, "Can you do just that"?
