If this topic has been discussed, sorry.

What are the chances of Jerry trading down or out of the first round picks?

Not saying anyone would be inclined to do this on either side, just bored and let's say Atlanta really wants a QB like Brohm and realizes he might not get past the end of round 1...

Would you do either of these trades?

1) Trade #22 to Atlanta for next year's #1 and and 2 this year (like the Cleveland trade last year)

or

2) Trade #28 for Atlanta's 34th pick and their 3rd pick #68.

Just curious to see how people on the board evaluate these things.

well the trade i would want to make is to get you know who. but if i had to choose between the 2 you listed i would definetly go with the one in bold.

I doubt Valley Ranch is going to try and get cute. The only possible trade I think they would tray would be for a veteran WR, Roy Williams or Anquan Bolden for instance.

They could trade down at 28 but I think they'd want two 2nd round picks for that pick. I think pick #28 is more likely to be used for the trade above, a veteran WR.

1) yes Atlanta is going to be bad after losign their top corner and with their QB situation unless Ryan lights the world on fire.

2) yes it would be a good deal as well.

this obviously depends on who is there but unless someone drops to 22 or 28 then you have to do those deals.

I agree with this. I could also see us trading for a future pick in the first round with 28.

I would make trade #1 if the guy(s) we wanted were already gone. There aren't any total studs in this draft and I would not mind picking up a 2nd 1st rounder for next year from a team that is likely to be selecting near the top.

That didn't work out as planned this year because Cleveland did much better than expected and maybe Atlanta will too, though I don't see how they could, but who knows.

Also, we wouldn't be dropping that much into the 2nd round and could still pick up solid players at #28 & #34 plus our own 2nd rounder.

It would put us in position to make a move up in next year's draft if a player is there that we really want.

I don't think it will happen but I wouldn't be all that surprised if the guys we are targeting are either already gone or likely to be there at 28 & 34 anyway.

I would depending on what is there, what we're looking at getting, who might be sliding, etc.

If the player we really want is off the board, then Yes......do it.

I'd trade down only if all the players we designate as good value at #22 and #28 are gone.

:starspin Agreed, if the player we really want is off the board, then make a trade, "if" we find someone willing to move up to our spot.

If a deal for Chicago's 2009 1st round pick could made, yes, I'd like to see a trade down. I think the Bears are gonna be disappointing this season. Reasons: 1) Poor QB play, 2) Uncertainty at RB, 3) Revamped offensive line and 4) Stubborn head coach (regarding QB situation).

All good answers.

Just stand pat and draft at #22 and #28. Please don't get cute!

I still those visions of Dallas passing up S. Jackson for J. Jones. I just can't go thru that again. :bang2:

I would totally jump at the 1st option. I bet we could even score a 5th rounder as well. Heck, Buffalo made the exact same trade with us in 2004. It was even for the 22nd pick!

I just don't see any of the top corners falling to us at 22, plus if the pacman thing goes through, we really aren't that hard up at corner. I just don't see that many can't miss guys at 22.

I'd love to see us grab another 1st rounder for next year, and be able to keep us as flexible as we have been over the past 4 years. I just don't see that much of a difference in talent between the bottom half of the first round and the entire second. I like the options this presents us with.

Someone said that they "won't get that cute"....REALLY? I mean, seriously? Why wouldn't they? In a year where the draft is loaded with tons of borderline first/second rounders and a complete lack of "eliet talent", you wouldn't roll the dice trading down from one of your TWO first round picks for another shot at a top 10 pick? You'd be crazy not to "get cute".

Who's you know who?:D

I would definitely go with the first choice. I really can't see the Falcons doing anything near like what the Browns did in terms of turning it around. The Falcons still have a lot of suck in them.

Jackson's good, but i don't have nightmares over that decision. Has he even finished a full season yet? Oh yeah...One.

I'm not saying Julius did much better in terms of durability, but come on. yeah, it would be one lethal combo back there, Barber and Jackson...But come on, that pick got us Spears and Ware. Maybe Spears hasn't been the player everyone thought he would, but heck, I'll take Julius and Ware any day over Steven Jackson.

If we take Jackson why does everyone assume we take Barber the next season?
