In chess the defining skill is being able to read the board 4, 5, 7 moves ahead. That's what separates winning and losing. Steve Jobs said, "Don't skate to where the puck is...skate to where the puck will be." An athlete--or business man who can anticipate will leave all others in the dust.
The very fact that posters here would disparage forward-thinking, showing no respect to it's value as the penultimate skill... tells me I could be wasting my time with losers who can't grasp the very minimal requirements of success in any enterprise and who apparently lack the skill to achieve anything...to achieve anywhere.
If you can't think ahead...you are hopelessly behind. Forever. And to BRAG that you have no interest in reading the chess board more than 1 move ahead is to announce to everyone, "I am a hopeless loser!"
