Jerry Jones would take the brand name he turned into a juggernaut with him. You'd have the Dallas Horseriders of the Dallas Desperados or something.
It be the same situation Houston had. I don't know man.
The brand is the Cowboys star. That is what the OP proposed. It would not be like the brand, like the Browns, stays in Dallas, and Jones takes his vested ownership to LA.
I think there would be locals, in Dallas, that would probably do what the Texans fans now did when the Oilers left. But there is a big difference between taking a team that does not have the history and national reach the Cowboys have had well before Jerry Jones bought them and recreating it. It changed lesser franchises and the Dallas Desperados or whatever would not have the star. Jones would absolutely take all the marketing firepower with him. All the Dallas franchise would have is primarily a local market base, which honestly I do not think is all that strong.
