Look guys, I'm as big as a homer as anyone else in here....BUT.....who in here HONESTLY, would not trade Romo straight up for Rodgers right now??? Be truthful!

Wouldn't do it because it would be pointless. Rodgers wouldn't do any better than Romo here because the offensive line is atrocious as is the defense. You put Romo on the Packers and they win the championship.

They are essentially the same player performance wise. Just one plays on a SB caliber team. The other one, not so much.

I guess Rogers is younger- but only slightly. Just trust Tony more.

I wouldn't trade Romo for anyone in the league right now, considering age, contract and performance.

A better, more honest hypothetical is "Would the average GM do that trade?"

No. Of course not. In my opinion, the Dallas Cowboys can reach and win Super Bowls with Tony Romo.

Sometimes folks should finally come to the realization that you do not need Roger Staubach or Joe Montana to win in this league--ESPECIALLY in this era. Competent players at most or every position, health, solid coaching and even some luck is required.

This franchise has won Super Bowls without Terry Bradshaw. It has won championships without John Elway. Yes, there are those who are enamored with Aaron Rodgers. He may go on to have a Hall of Fame career and have his name mentioned among the greats of all-time, but seriously. Is it really necessary to fill out fantasy football rosters in this instance?

Mentioning Bradshaw in the same sentence as Elway makes me throw up in my mouth.

Actually what would be better: I would trade the Cowboys GM for their GM, yesterday!

:muttley: I feel where you're coming from, but unfortunately ~sigh~ he has the hardware to be mentioned in that particular context.

Whoopie he has 4 rings. Most of that is due to the Defense; and while I hate them Stallworth and Swann made some real circus catches of BADLY THROWN FOOTBALLS.

Look, I'm not arguing against you here. The OP has propositioned that Rodgers is better than Romo in light of his Super Bowl appearance. All I am saying with my Bradshaw reference is that having a Super Bowl appearance on your resume should not automatically be the sole criteria for jettisoning your own capable quarterback. That's all. I never liked Bradshaw either, you know. :)

Well if we are going to play hypotheticals...can I keep Romo and get their defense and coaching staff???

Packers get swiss cheese defense and Wade, you still think Rodgers is in the Super Bowl today?

If I am going to swap out a Franchise QB I want an improvement no one can argue with as me getting the better end of the deal.

Do you honestly have that with Rodgers? I am not so sure. I like him, but I am not sure there is much difference. A healthy Romo on that team and they are still in the Super Bowl. A healthy Rodgers with our team at the start of this season I don't think makes any difference.

No, I would not, and these threads are exactly why I wanted the Eagles to win against Green Bay in the wild card round.

This thread reminds me of the fill out a roster thread with only one player from every team.

I don't think anyone picked Romo.

Lots of people picked Ware though.

For me, if we assume both players are equal in talent, it's a no brainer trade simply because Rogers just turned 27 in December and Romo turns 31 in April plus I think Rogers is faster when he has to run and has a stronger arm.

I like Romo, so this is no knock on him, just good business in my opinion.

Excellent Thread, we needed more ways to throw backhanded insults at our qb.

Every GM would make that trade based on age. Rogers is 27 and Romo is 30 (or is it 31)?

If you accept they are equal players, then it would be a no brainer to trade for Rogers.

Would pull that trade in a second and send them RW11 to make it even.
