I’m not a believer that Pollard is an every down back

Hes wonderful to have but he’s going to get dinged up eventually if we don’t have another complimentary piece. Don’t forget he’s also coming back from a big injury and blocking is not his forte.

While I do agree with Zekes release, we need to invest in an early pick in this years draft. I want a physical runner that punishes defenses like early Zeke, Barber, and Murray. We need some toughness to this team. While I’m sad about Zekes release, the future also excites me

I'm a believer that when he got hurt in the SF game we saw a different team...he's got to be on the field as much as possible

Real bell cow RBs are few and far between anymore. Some who can do it all and do it three downs again and again are very rare.

And usually require high draft picks and lots of money to keep

So RB by committee is probably the better way to go in the NFL as it is now

Who is the Chiefs every down back? Didn't KC win it all ? I think the idea should be to find COMPLETE backs. Speed, power, receiving skills etc..Then go out and get 3 of them. That way the RBs can platoon and no matter who is in the game, the offense can function.

I used to question Pollard being the primary back, but every year he proves me wrong. Despite his size, he can also bang with defenders. Situationally, the guys numbers are crazy good in the 4th quarter, though thus may be obfuscated by some bigger runs in blowouts. But his averages in tight games in the 4th, when within 7 or really good.

He’s only rarely had games when he’s carried above 20 times, but which RB does. If his numbers lie below 20, he has shown as far as the lifespan of RBs go, he can definitely carry the load.

One thing is pretty clear though to me is, his impact is felt on faster turf, not really grass.

This will and should be a committee. I want to see 3 backs involved. Expecting Pollard to carry the load isn’t going to happen. The idea of a bell cow RB needs to be gone from this team!
