I’m not a believer that Pollard is an every down back

Are you comfortable using that first on Robinson?

Me? I would be all for it
Yes i think theres a big difference in using the4th pick when you had so many needs versus the 26th pick when you dont have as many needs and youre close. robinson is basically what you get if you combine a pollard and Zeke. hes a beast Id take that in a heartbeat

Hes wonderful to have but he’s going to get dinged up eventually if we don’t have another complimentary piece. Don’t forget he’s also coming back from a big injury and blocking is not his forte.

While I do agree with Zekes release, we need to invest in an early pick in this years draft. I want a physical runner that punishes defenses like early Zeke, Barber, and Murray. We need some toughness to this team. While I’m sad about Zekes release, the future also excites me
It’s a moot point. He doesn’t need to be. And yes we need two more good backs if we want a dominant run game. 3rd or 4th round pick and a veteran.

I agree but I’m pretty sure we’ll add some help for him… Committee is the way it’s done these days

This isn't new......if TPollard was an every down back......Zeke would have been able to sit and mend a bad knee.......2 seasons ago. Let that sink in.
The idiot refused to sit because he wanted a personal milestone. Nothing to do with pollard.

2022 was a pretty good balance in how Pollard was used. The problem is this is how he should have been used in prior years too. Then if they draft another RB say not in round 1, will they be hesitant to use him like they were hesitant to use pollard for 3 years?

I’d like to see a 2-4 pick and even a later pick maybe 6-7 and a low dollar vet with game experience.

Camp..

Pollard
Davis
Vet FA
Rookie 2
Rookie 7

Then you can even sprinkle in a few undrafteds But if they want 3 productive backs (which is exactly what I’m hoping for) they better get very busy!! Plus you still have Pollard coming off an injury!

If Robinson isnt there. Hope that Charbonnet is there in the second.

Id also be looking in on D'Onta Foreman as well. Should be cheap.

If robinson is gone. Id be looking at Washington, DL or OL help. This is also considering we fix WR prior to the draft.

I've always hated RB by committee. Like they used to be able to do it all the time but now suddenly everyone's too fragile.

It's a weak mindset.

Do you consider a 1-2nd down back and a 3rd down back that spells the other guy from time to time on 1-2nd downs RB by committee?

No, not really. More splitting carries between two backs.

Let's say the Cowboys do draft Bijan Robinson. You're telling me the best way to use him is to limit his touches? I don't buy it. Ride that horse until he breaks down.

The issue in todays NFL is paying one RB to be “the guy” while your backups are average at best. With the salary cap you can’t overpay any of them and your constantly churning. The bell cow doesn’t work because guys are gone much quicker. 4/5 years .. done.

Yeah, that had more to do with the FO than Pollard. He filled in nicely this past year.

Anyway, moot point bc we will have a committee as we should.
