I actually feel some sympathy for Jerry

I have said multiple times of how I don’t have any sympathy for Jerry. And it has never had anything to do because he is rich. It has everything to do with him taking the team we all supported, cheered and loved way before he ever came into power.

And after running Jimmy off, decided to take over all management and responsibility with an iron fist. No matter the mistakes and failures he encountered, continued to do the same thing over and over. He has wasted not just a third of his life, but at least half of ours. Time is precious and you never get back, regardless of whether you’re rich or poor. You make your bed, you lay in it. So you can feel however you want, just count me as one who has no sympathy, pity or sorrow for him.

No doubt, and my sympathy is very low, but there is some there.

I actually feel some sympathy for Jerry. I know he's rich. I know he owns the team that we love and all that. I know he's made some boneheaded decisions and such, but I kinda feel bad for him. But not in the way you might think.

I was thinking, and I said this in a thread, who needs that much money to be happy? I feel actually kind of sorry for Jerry because he's so money hungry that I wonder, does he know what love feels like? Does he not realise what's important? When he is laying on his death bed, which comes for all of us some day, how much regret will he have? You can't take money with you when you die. Money doesn't love you. Money cannot love you. It's an object. It's a thing. As the MeatLoaf song "Our Love and Our Souls" says, money is just money. It comes and it goes. It doesn't last forever.

At the end of the day, he seems like someone who is miserable and is money hungry because he's trying to fill a void. A void that is more important than money. Faith, love, family, friends, and fun. Those are what truly matter. I know he's a billionaire and narcissistic, but am I the only one that feels a little sorry for him in this regard?

I don't know him personally, and I've never met him. But, it just saddens me when I see people like him who are so hungry for money and the limelight. I think the sad thing is, probably a good chunk of us are truly happier in life than Jerry is.
Does he know what love feels like?

I’d figure so. I’m sure he has had plenty of it on his tour bus.

The person I feel bad for is Gene, who has been subject to public humiliation to the highest degree, although choosing to hang around is on her.

Exactly, and she's someone I definitely have a lot more sympathy for than Jerry. I hope she convinces Stephen to sell or hire someone who knows football after Jerry dies.

As far as your OP, it’s tough to find sympathy for anyone that I despise to the level that I do, but as I’ve said already…..it’s shameful what he chooses to do every day over what he could potentially do in life, but that’s up to him.

I just can’t imagine putting up with public criticism and ridicule over being able to hang out on his yacht in exotic places while enjoying the best of everything. All to prove a very pointless point while making more and more people dislike him more than they already do.

That first line sounds like a song that @5star should write.

Just wondering...most are tough.....but some feel so damn good.
I give people a pretty long rope. Never fired someone because they questioned any of my decisions, I encourage it. It's helped me avoid making some pretty bad choices because I hadn't seen a certain problem that could arise from it.

The ones that feel good are the ones who have through sheer negligence or laziness have caused a patient to have a negative outcome. Those get no sympathy here.

Well, exactly, and that last paragraph is part of the reason that I actually feel a little sympathy for him. What's he trying to prove? Where does he think this all leads to?

F Jerry. Feel sympathy for me for having to deal with this from the person whose job is supposed to be to build the best possible roster and have tunnel vision towards doing everything possible to win a SB and prioritizing it over everything else for the team I follow

Oh trust me, as someone who's never really had a chance to see success, I understand it.

Yep gotcha.

It does make one wonder exactly what he is trying to prove and also why his family isn’t asking the same thing, but I’m sure they have their own agenda….or maybe they are asking and he doesn’t want to hear it. Probably thinks he is younger than he is, or will live forever…and at this point I’m not sure if I disagree lol.

For his sake I truly hope it’s not still the Jimmy Johnson thing, but I have a suspicion it probably is. No matter what happens from here, that perception isn’t going to change. That’s where it gets sad so I do get your point.

Probably thought he could buy some karma with the ROH thing, but it doesn’t work that way. They missed their window from 21-23 but weren’t aware enough to know it and add the necessary pieces. I don’t think the kid helps with approaches like….’why pay for Bobby Wagner when Damone Clark can do the job?’ One small example.

I mean, I could see it being Jimmy, but I thought they would've buried that hatchet with Jimmy now in the ROH. All I know is it's a shame to see narcissism swallowing someone like Jerry.

Jerry's family is perfectly fine with Jerry doing things the way he does and will never question his methods or try to get him to change his ways. Why? Because Jerry has amassed a fortune of over 15.4 billion that they all stand to inherit when he dies.

Go Jerry, keep filling that inheritance bag.

I wonder sometimes if anyone in that family has ever had to work a real job with real responsibilities

I don’t think any of us have any idea, what Jerry does with his money to help people. It’s been said his wife gives too many charities. People need.
