I admit I should not have bought what was being sold

I will admit it. I bought the bill of goods. I believed this team was different and capable of at the very least being capable of a deep playoff run. I was dead wrong.

And amazingly, until this season I usually started the season saying, “I will believe it when it happens.” I bought that this team, this coaching staff was positioned to be different. Again, I was as wrong as that putrid performance yesterday.

As of last night, I am returning to “I will believe it when it happens.” Not before.

For me, “buying in” won’t happen until I see some meaningful changes made at the top of this organization. An organization led by a man that never takes ultimate responsibility for his team’s failures and will never make a fundamental change in the way he operates. It won’t matter who is coaching or QBing this team until that changes.

How about you? What will it take to make you believe again?

The only thing I need to see to make me believe again is taking the most important position in professional sports seriously.

For almost 20 years now we've hitched our wagons to undrafted and 4th round talent at the QB position.

Show me that you are committed to taking the QB position seriously and I'll believe again.

We have a 1st round pick top 3 pick on our roster. Unleash Trey Lance.

MC, even that wouldn’t be enough for me. Dak was terrible yesterday and has been mostly bad when it matters most. But I believe if we had 2014 Tom Brady at QB the last two years, we wouldn’t have been much better. Brady can’t tackle or rush the passer.

I would be fine moving on from Dak. But the guy running this organization does not have a clue how to rebuild. So yes, let’s get rid of Dak. But that doesn’t change as much as many think.

I blame Kurt Warner and Tom Brady. Jerry so desperately wanted to show everyone that he could also find the next great diamond in the rough.

This season went exactly as I had imagined it would. The only reason I held out hope was that it was being carried by the younger group (Lamb, Ferguson, Bland, Parsons, Bell). I was hoping that the younger group would be able to rise above the stench of the establishment (Dak, Lawrence, Zack, Tyron). Unfortunately it was not meant to be and now things only get worse. Salaries will go up and we will continue to cling to our "stars" because that is what we do.

I will always be hopeful and optimistic when Dallas has a "good" team (whatever that even means at this point) but my expectation will always be that they will be an early loss squad in the playoffs until they aren't.

I bought into it too Bob. I don't blame anyone that did because we've been wondering in the desert for so long that we grab onto any shred of hope.

I cant and I wont ever believe again until the trophy is actually being lifted by a person with the star on their helmet.

Fooled into believing when Garret had two winning seasons.
Dumb enough to think we could win out and beat the Bills and the Dolphins in their own stadiums and I posted it here.

NEVER AGAIN.

I will sit on the fence until/IF one of our players hoists the lombardi trophy.

Yeah we have some young talented players. They all stunk yesterday. Parsons and Bland deserve some criticism today. Bland was embarrassingly awful yesterday. So was Gilmore.

Dak deserves everything he’s getting today. But changing QBs without some other fundamental changes in this organization is just another coat of paint on the Titanic.

You are so stuck on your hate for Dak that it clouds your big picture. We all get it.......Dak is a problem but he doesn't play defense. In other words, this team has way more problems than Dak. It's not hard to see.......

I never fell for it, because like SAS said just give this organization time, something will happen even when things are setup in your favor.

I ate the cheese too even though I should know better. Will not happen again so get ready to call me a hater and question my fan card next season because I am in full "prove it in the playoffs" mode from here on out.

Like I said repeatedly to folks you can’t assess until it’s over, so many get caught up in the moment or are blinded by the moment and can’t see the reality of what is happening. I would have thought you were one of the level headed ones who could see that not much changed and waited until it was done to evaluate the season. Jerry sold you a bill of goods and you stepped up and bought a big piece of it now it’s buyers remorse. At least you understand and are man enough to understand and admit it. The team still needs a major shake up but Jerry isn’t doing it even though this is the most embarrassing loss with the quality of players in Cowboys history and seeing Jerry’s look and pain during and at the end was priceless and he deserves every bit of it as it’s all self inflicted. Have a great offseason.
