mods: sorry if there are more threads out there like this. I couldnt find what I was looking for. please move or merge....if necessary.

1. Tickets. I could go with ticketmaster which i will probbaly do, but i think i can get some better tickets via craigslist. ill pay. but to me . its worth it. I dont have 1500 budget . but ill do a grand. my girl and I are going. we live about 3 hours away, so no hotel or taxi money!!

2. Were getting there really early. I dont know the area, and we want to make a "day" out it . we would like to find a "dive like" restaurant with good food. not criminal like,,etc etc . but, we arent fancy people and enjoy "somewhat" edgy and culture like bars... with good food!!

3. Parking. is it a night mare?

4. we want to get our faces painted. is there anybody offering services liek that around the area?

she knows nothing. and i do mean NOTHING about football. but she is excited cuz im amped all up!!! i told her not to wear the pink 9 romo jersey. but she probably will....she doesnt listen to me. im used to it.
.

You will find tickets for FAR less than a grand....maybe 700-800 for two...but not a grand each...not even a grand for both

Park on Randle Hill Rd. I got to the Colts game and paid $25 at a church not too far away. A block closer to the stadium was $60. When you leave, whatever you do, don't go back towards the stadium.

I think he means Randol Mills Rd. If you're just there for the day, I'd suggest just hanging around Lincoln Square by the stadium. They have the $40 tab and park for free thing still going I've heard. About 10-15 min walk to the stadium. Also, for a sports bar, I think there's one called BoomerJacks you might be interested in as just a place to hang/eat/chill til gametime.

I went in 2009 on Thanksgiving and had the time of my life. It was one of my lifetime goals, being from the east coast.
You can't get parking up close to the stadium if you are not some kind of premiere ticket holder from what I remember- in fact our cab driver was swarmed by security because we made him drive us into this area. He got off with warnings, but they were all over him.
Making a day out of it- one note, the stadium is not open all day- there is definitely some kind of opening time 2-3 hours before the game- opening time is cool, because you can watch those humungous sliding glass doors open. There are booths all over selling Cowboys paraphernalia - but the best shop was in the bottom of the stadium. We didn't see it until we were exiting, still open and packed after the game.
Around the stadium is very cool...bands, beer booths, etc.
Also, I sat on the 3rd level near where the 'dancers' were shaking their stuff on those little platforms. It was awesome. All the Cowboys touchdowns were scored on my side of the field right below me. Time of my life.
Been a Cowboys fan my whole life, and it was like being in a dream being around so many other Cowboys fans, especially in the parking lot.

Have fun

This.

Get a gift card at Best Buy for $40 and leave the reciept on the dash for free parking. The walk to the stadium is a piece of cake and it's easy to get out of the parking lot after the game. Scream loud and enjoy yourself. I'll look for you on TV.

i am from the east coast too. recently moved to Texas for work. ive been to the old stadium twice. regular season games with not that much fan fair. Its freaking hot in Texas in October. it was those years at least....... OMG!!! but now, im a 3 hour drive away !!!! leave sunday return sunday . no hotel no taxis or rentals......saves me cash.

And that old stadium saw a lot of action and partying in the 70s early 80s...!!! it was old....

been a fan since 10 years old i am in my 40s. seen a lot of stuff in my life. worked all my life i am working class,,,,, not too much gets me excited anymore, i think its a byproduct of getting "older:"

but im amped for this game. excited!!! NEVER expected this at the start of the season. i aint missing a second. i aint missing this game. im going to pay a small fortune to be there(fortune for me). and it will be worth every penny! the new stadium. the Boys in the playoffs looking so good......no way im missing this.

thanks for the tips!!!

If you are getting there early, then you should have no problem getting into any place in Lincoln square for the $40 deal. Also near there is a Buffalo Wild Wings I think does the $40 deal.
If you park at a $25 lot and walk you,can still walk to Lincoln square, hang out at a place, or walk, around the Walmart across from the stadium.

At the stadium plenty of activities going on. They have the Corral thing, tented area, music, beer, food.
The stadium itself may open earlier than the normal,2 hours before kick off, as well as the pro shop to get any merchandise.

If you haven't bought the tickets yet, PM me. I have a pair 4 rows from the field in the end zone. I also have a pair for on the first row but plan on sitting in those. I can tell you exactly where to park as well.

I went to that game and parked at a church also, is that the one that with drop off and pick up service? It was really nice for $30.
